Hi The Goodyear BFG tyres and alloys came from a company called Rouge Alloy they have an EBay shop. The size is 225/15 R 16 . If you contact them they will make sure you get the correct ones for your van. Hope this helps.

No noticeable difference in noise. You also get a much smoother ride as I run mine at 45 psi as apposed to the 80 psi the camper tyres run at.

Hi I'm looking to build my own loco but I'm struggling on how it moves, what system does this one have, does it have powered bogies if so could you tell me where you got them from or how you made them.
@TheModelav8r
@TheModelav8r Ай бұрын
I bought the loco second hand most locomotives in this scale use either chain drive to the axles or a nylon gear bolted to the back of each wheel on each bogie. ametrains.co.uk is just one manufacturer here in the UK that supply ready to run bogies as well as complete models.

Regarding the charging arrangement, I have a 24V battery loco wired by Mini Train Systems in Australia. They use a 3-pole circuit breaker on the batteries, the 3rd pole of which joins the 2 batteries in series for normal operation. The batteries are also wired to a 4-pin Anderson socket, and the charging plug is wired to charge the batteries in parallel from 12 V, which works because the series connection is broken by the main circuit breaker, which must be off for charging. This seems like a good arrangement to maintain equal charge.
@TheModelav8r
@TheModelav8r 3 ай бұрын
Thanks Richard for the info. Your setup looks to be a good way to go about charging the batteries equally well done. I will definitely look into this. I have several 24volt electric locomotives and are now using two 12volt LifePo4 batteries which I just transfer from local to loco . I can happily run all day on a pair of 100Ah batteries. All the best Dave

Hello Tony The paint I used was MOTIP semi gloss black. If you Google MOTIP paint you will find it’s available from many suppliers. It’s an acrylic paint, however I think as long as you key the plastic with some wet and dry most paints should stick. I did mine 18 months ago and it’s still as new. Hope this helps.
