@@alastairbwilson Yeah, I can see why you'd go for that, it being the equivalent of a chromatic, but I took the easier route, and got a three row. As I think I've mentioned before, I can boogie myself senseless on it without even having a clue what I'm doing !

Yes - a valveless chromatic as I have trouble with sticky valves. Tone not as good as CX12

Yes I only use diatonic Orchestra S’s and chromatic CX12’s - same consistent pattern across the octaves and instruments. Best wishes for 2024.

@@alastairbwilson I would never consider using a chromatic ( even though I've got one I was given ) because I have a thing about simplicity when it comes to instruments. I also have a thing about simplicity when it comes to music, and I consider that harmonic music ( that modulates ) is the work of the devil. So any tune that might have a C natural as well as C# ( in D ) I just don't play on the harmonica, I've got loads of other instruments I can use for those couple of tunes that I play in that category. The thing I like about solo tuning apart from the logical layout is that the missing note at the very top is not missing anymore. I'm a strictly one note at a time man, so the layout of the Richter is no advantage to me. Solo tuning is like magic, it effectively has more notes despite the fact that it has more duplicates. You seem to be on a roll at the mo, so here's to the next 201 tunes !

Welcome to harmonica playing. Like most things it’s practice. There is lots of online advice on getting single notes, but all methods don’t suit everyone - do what works for you.
