You've done me a favour recently. I bought a couple of Orchestra S the other year when I started on the gobbie. Then I promptly discovered Paddy tuning, so I never touched the Orchs. Noticing that you've been playing them a lot of late made me get them out, like getting two brand new harmonicas for christmas. It will take a bit of getting used to, but I really like the logical layout of the " keyboard ". Thanks for that, and HNY !

Yes I only use diatonic Orchestra S’s and chromatic CX12’s - same consistent pattern across the octaves and instruments. Best wishes for 2024.

@@alastairbwilson I would never consider using a chromatic ( even though I've got one I was given ) because I have a thing about simplicity when it comes to instruments. I also have a thing about simplicity when it comes to music, and I consider that harmonic music ( that modulates ) is the work of the devil. So any tune that might have a C natural as well as C# ( in D ) I just don't play on the harmonica, I've got loads of other instruments I can use for those couple of tunes that I play in that category. The thing I like about solo tuning apart from the logical layout is that the missing note at the very top is not missing anymore. I'm a strictly one note at a time man, so the layout of the Richter is no advantage to me. Solo tuning is like magic, it effectively has more notes despite the fact that it has more duplicates. You seem to be on a roll at the mo, so here's to the next 201 tunes !
