I moved to Castle Rock last June and love this area! I'm 5 min to the interstate and 35 min to DIA. Lots of bike trails, unique lots and homes, all stores and restaurants you want, 15 min drive to DTC, beautiful landscape in the foothills of the Rockies. Good schools and extremely low crime make it a great place to raise a family. Old town is fantastic and separate from the 160 stores at the outlet mall. I own e-bikes and take them to both as well as 400+ miles of bike trails. Great quality of life!

I live in Cap Hill downtown Denver but my parents have been in Briscoe Ranch at the edge of the Meadows for the last 8 years and I understand why it’s so popular! The hiking in the area you showed on the map has the most stunning views and is steps from their front door. And I can confirm that 9/10 times that I drive between my place and theirs it’s exactly 35 minutes. But I also know better than to drive at rush hour….

First off yards in Colorado suck you won’t get a yard compared to places like Chicago or New York subs. Cost of living here is out of this world 600k or more for an ok home in a good area. I love the nature but man the real estate alone make me wanna move away

@donnadrane4977 There's only a couple months a year where you would utilize a pool so most people don't have them in Colorado. It's very rare. Instead, it's very common to have neighborhood pools where you're only allowed if you can prove you live in the neighborhood.

The freeway on the south side of the metro area is actually C-470. The E-470 toll road starts when you get east of I-25. There is a Lexus Lane (toll lane) on C-470, but the rest of the road is free from I-25 to I-70.

Interesting that macanta gets the mention, while the more established neighborhoods of diamond ridge, sapphire pointe, / maher ranch are not mentioned. The 20-25 years of landscaping in these more mature areas offers a lot more privacy, better lot sizes. I'll just say that gemstone park is the only hint that these neighborhoods have hidden value / treasures within.

When you got to East Aurora, you went straight down Colfax Ave, not I-70. Didn't hook up until you were in Golden. I drive the major arteries for work. It's not unusual for me to take two hours or more from Longmont to Colorado Springs. You also need a big chunk of cash to live on the south metro area. Infact anywhere in the metro area....

Lived here 40 years. NEVER got from Castle Rock to Denver in 35 minutes, EVER. Always allow an hour if have a meeting or job there. And this is i perfect weather. Tell the truth! Traffic in the Denver has been MISERABLE for 20 years. And you didn’t tell them about the tolls. You're probably to young to know, but originally the toll was to be payed out in 10 years. They lied to us.

I washed this place go down hill, Downtown Denver has become the capital of homeless city. Traffic sucks. Take 30-40 mins to get anywhere. Trash everywhere on the highway, homeless people everywhere. It is way too crowded. Please do not live in downtown Denver, they are lying to you literally. It is where the most crimes happen, they are showing you what highlands ranch used to look like. Denver is going down in many ways. Some parts of the city look like an undeveloped country, people are hanging out at the intersections begging for money and I am not in the mood for political discussions here. It is still a nice city for many and boring and lack of culture for others. Almost everyone here is a transplant from other states, including me. I live in Congress Park, it is a beautiful area I like with access to great parks-City Park, Chessman Park and close to everything. Having lived in 4 other states, I know I can find nature and many more amenities in other cities. I enjoy the mountains but am definitely a coastal person, and for that reason, I am out!

These videos have been super helpful. It would be great to see one specifically on foothill towns. I'd love to live in the mtns, my oldest son wants the convenience of biking to ice rinks and school and my youngest wants trees and snow and to be able to bike to a coffee shop with hot chocolate! I'm thinking a foothills town may be a good compromise! With good schools of course! I'll definitely be reaching out but I thought I'd suggest a foothills town video.
