If one day you delve into coding, you will then understand how genius those guys are. And not out of nowhere, they've been coding since they were 10 year olds...

I've been saying it to people for months now... this guy actually took the solid route. do not use a 3rd party game maker app. just learn how to program and start from there. this game is so good cause its not limited by a game makers app. and he has full control over the program. not saying you cant make good games, with a game makers app. but you'll have way much more control ,over your game. I'm currently going through the same process. an I think its better to go this hard route.... you'll learn how to create standalone programs. instead of being depended on a 3rd party engine. it will take at least a year or 2 longer when starting out.. but it is the better route. a good programmer makes its own editor, not uses a pre made one... there not game engines, there game editors...most of the time. (that is my personal opinion.) in the 80s and 90s creating you own (file) editor was normal... now people tend to opt for pre made editors.. like: godot, unreal, game makers studio. the old guys did not have these privileges. he is just as stubborn as me....make it myself rather then use 3rd party stuff. and I think that was the better choice. (harvest moon was one of my favourite games ,just a casual game for all ages to enjoy. loved that game on my ps2.)

"I didn't want the game to become tiring for people, or for people to get spoiled before even getting the chance to play it" Well, lucky for you Toby I only bought undertale a couple days ago, in 2024, and somehow still managed to end up playing the game completely blind.... somehow...

you get tired of looking the characters heads. and it would make ir harder to look at them. And they do with darkest dungeon 2? put them in a fucking stage coach. you cant even look at the character head. the worst idea they had for this game

He's such a kool guy who lives in reality. He knows the world is a awful place. So when you find something that isn't awful, it's a rare and beautiful moment. And his games have this theme down in spades. Suffering 99% of the time just to feel that 1% of amazement.

Watching this after Exit the Gungeon has come out, there's a funny feeling of nostalgia for the "What's next?!" we all felt then. It's cute in retrospect~ 😆

I'm kinda surprised by how many people are admiring the fact that the guys are so dedicated to the game, while living some of the saddest lives imaginable. It honestly made be depressed just listening to the narrator talking about them.

I have finished the game already....and only now, as you mentioned it, I noticed that the Gods are mixed race. The game, art and story telling felt so organic, it never occured to me. That game gets more awesome the more I learn about it.

That initial idea of exploration, adventure, and collecting that he wanted to share with a new generation, and felt was universal, worked. For me, that is exactly what Pokemon provided. Going on a walk in the park and feeling like a Pokemon might be in any bush, behind any tree. WISHING and HOPING it would be.

Thank you very much for that great video. I was interested since I am starting to develop my own game since i am already a software developer for almost 10 years now. The video was so good that i bought Rain World and registered to Milanote. I never got hooked up with OneNote, and for me, it was always very bad to handle. On the first look Milanote seemed quite the opposite and ill give it a go, maybe thats the thing i was looking for since 10 years or so. Besides that I love your voice its so relaxing and i can focus very well, while listening to you. Furthermore your structure is very well at least for me its easy to follow the whole video without an issue. Great work keep it up! I'll check out more videos on your channel and leave a sub! 👍

2024 and the game is doing well. I'm hooked and the people you meet ingame and some of the nicest that i never actually get to speak to in a game. Finishing a game with someone and trying to wish them the best without words is not easy. Now to finish last quest. Return after a week. All the best to those who took the ''Journey''.
