You would have gotten a thumbs up if you had used inches, and not centimeters.

Thanks for the laughs! Why should I care about some silly units a tiny fraction of the world uses? Get with the program and use units which are actually useful! Or, you know, keep going around KZfaq telling people what to do, I'm sure that's more productive! 😂

why does this model have 6 medium drawers? i only know of the one you showed from the website, where it has 1 large 2 medium and 3 small. was this how the used one was set up or did you hunt down 3 units and adjust it... or was there a unit that had 6 medium drawers.

this video seriously needs a headphone warning for that alarm section. lol
@SwitchAndLever26 күн бұрын
The thing is, the alarm isn’t higher than the rest of the video, it’s severely lowered in volume over the original video. It’s all psychological why it feels louder.
@alfredo42o25 күн бұрын
@@SwitchAndLever I did notice you audio balanced it, so thanks for that! its just a much harsher noise, so it definitely "feels" louder.

Fantastic video! I’m about to start the journey. My understanding is that the goal of this is to make it into a midi controller, which helps you put input into a DAW. If I made this, is there a way to turn it into a playable guitar? Like for a live concert. As I think about it, I would have to attach it to the DAW and amplify the laptop? That would be the same idea as playing it live, but it’s being played through the DAW. My other question is where does the power come from? Is it drawing power from the laptop through the usb? Thanks for the clarity, I appreciate it!
@SwitchAndLeverАй бұрын
Yes to both your questions, live playing through a DAW and power through USB.

Not sure how well it would reproduce with a piezo, but hang a metal coat hanger from a string and flick the hanger. If you want to hear what it’s supposed to sound like, wrap the string around your finger, stick your finger in your ear, and flick. It sounds pretty amazing

hi Daniel, Im not a muscian either. I made a multi channels usb midi theremin, and I'm looking for software that lets me add different sounds to different notes, on different channels. It would seem like this is a basic function of the protocol, but I have yet to find any software which makes it easy. I hop this video discusses that.

Gotta be honest cheap oscilloscopes are usually pretty bad. If you are on a budget I would get a USB oscilloscope instead.
@SwitchAndLever2 ай бұрын
Please do elaborate. I have used this a fair bit over the last few months, and I have no complaints. I don't have any need for a high end oscilloscope, and beyond a few quirks to learn with the interface I haven't noticed anything which has given me pause with this. It all depends on what you need I guess 🙂
@MaxWithTheSax2 ай бұрын
@@SwitchAndLeverThe idea is that if it is a USB oscilloscope all the money goes into the measurement electronics and not in the screen and buttons like on a standard oscilloscope. But yes it really does depend on what you need. One big downside of USB oscilloscopes is that they usually don't go over 5V inputs
@SwitchAndLever2 ай бұрын
I understand and I can see some logic in that. For me though I wanted a dedicated unit, I don’t have space for another screen on my workbench, and I don’t want to sit and probe stuff on my cramped desk. A stand-alone oscilloscope was just what I needed. Everyone is different though 🙂

At least setting that intention. Life has taken over, as it tends to do, and some things are far more important than making videos. There are plans on making new material though, and I do somewhat want to return to basics rather than making these increasingly complex videos I have been making.

No point in kowtowing to the whims of various box generating websites - the only tool you'll ever need is TabbedBoxMaker and Inkscape. Oh, and I'm not saying your laser kerf is going to be any specific number, but... 0.2mm. It's going to be 0.2mm.
@user-vv1do1wg1j3 ай бұрын
0.2mm, or 0.1mm; but yes i agree: it might be a good idea to make the entering "teeth" 0.1mm bigger but in my experience; 0 offsetting and a thin layer of guesso or chocco paint will add enough material to the joint for it to fit properlu
