I lucked out and got a heck of a deal on this unit in the clearance aisle unopened unused for $99 by far the best coffee machine purchase I've ever had worth every penny.

I thought the whole reason for having a Bean Hopper is not having to put beans in your machine every single time I like that I can fill it up and just grind my coffee without having to put more in there every time.

It tends to under shoot what you put in the grinder, always put an extra 0.3 grams in, measure it out after grind to get the exact amount

Ao smith is junk, mine last 15 months, sure they will send a new one but damn man this is my second replacement.

You would do better to try a micro roaster coffee bean. When I lived in the city I used fresh roasted coffee if you want a magical espresso shot. Google fuego coffee roasters, they are from Rochester NY and thier coffee blend called bear claw is where it's at. I've pulled some of the best shots with thier coffee.

Got this also recently. Fairly compact. Plan to Moto Camp so it can hopefully fit sideways on my V-Strom 650 seat, along with other gear.

Can someone tell me where the hell the 'brine well' is on these softeners? I have no idea where to pour the cleaning solution! I assume it is in the hole in the back right corner where the float is but the instructions are terrible!

Great video. You probably saved me over $1000 if I would have called repair man. Turns out my system was not showing any water flow. Turns out the impeller magnet was corroded. Put the ultimate culprit was the impeller sensor cable assembly was bad. Swapping out cables fixed the problem. To test the cable, leave it plugged into the controller, then remove the 1 screw holding the other end. Pull it out of impeller housing. Then use a magnet to touch the unplugged end and see if you can detect the moving water drop on the display. If you don't see it, replace the cable. Easy-peasey !

Hey man. I have same softener. I believe I know why ur tube is leaking. U have it going up hill and water is sitting in the tube at all times. And water wants to go down due to gravity.. tube should be aimed down from back of unit.. maybe cut ur PVC drainline down to almost round level then put tube straight into PVC. just tying to help..

You are grinding wayyyyy too coarse for 'eXpresso'...

I owned Jura, Delongi, and a Beville Barista Express and none of them were worth keeping. I actually owned two Barista Express because the first one did not work out of the box. The second one smoked and smelled like burning electrical out of the box. So, after my irritating journey with over priced garbage I bought one of these on a hunch. It is the best machine, I love it. It pulls amazing shots. It has an accurate grinder. It steams milk quickly with a perfect foam. It heats up quick and is super easy to use. Best price and best machine in it's class.

Jared, thank you! Your video really helped! My newly installed softener was not marking water usage because the turbine was installed backwards by the mfg. After, I placed it in the correct position, problem solved.

Setting 13 or 14? No. Put it on 7 or 8. Get you a distributor tool to break up clumps and tamp evenly and firmly. A self leveling spring tamper is worth the money. If do it right, you will not have a soupy puck at all and you will get a more thoroughly pulled shot with even more flavor. Also fresh roasted beans make all the difference in the world.

It's friggin "espresso" not "expresso"! You would think that someone doing a breakdown on an "espresso" machine would actually know how it's spelled...

Don’t worry. If it’s wood, it’s good. lol really. Some companies make a big deal about it but i’m in the camp that doesn’t buy the hype. The number one thing (aside from technique) that affects your tone is the speaker/cab you use. Then you follow the chain backwards from there, each thing having a smaller and smaller effect. By the time you get to the wood in the body we’re talking so minuscule even your dog won’t be able to tell… now acoustic guitars are another matter… wood matters… i think that’s where the idea of tonewood on electrics originated. try using the airator after the grinds go in, then use the stamper. try using a puck screen before mounting it in

I would HIGHLY recommend getting a WDT tool to help break up clumps after grinding and a distributor to level out your coffee before tamping. Appreciate the info. Just hooked up one. I have well water -> sediment -> ao smith carbon filter -> ao smith pro 50k softener -> ao smith uv filter. I'm trying to get the settings/function right. Just hooked it up and I'm getting salty water flavor. I'm using 3/4" drain line and it's a 4' vertical and 20' or so horizontal into my drain. Drain was a little crimped so I adjusted that as I'm using the same drain as the washing machine. Anyway, that little gear mechanism is what I'm thinking MAY be clogged if anything. Gonna check that next and then do a regen and see where I'm at.
