Hey, sorry for the off-topic. But do you (or anyone reading) have destiny's child "Survivor" font? It's called "Ultimate Survival", but I think it's probably easier to find it for free as a font pack of Beyonce's fonts in some forum rather than for the font itself and I know that pretty well because I know the story... If you wanna know, and to put it short it came in a CD from a 2001 publication named "metalheart" which defined the aesthetic with the same name. (A darker evolved version of the y2k look). It was designed by Andreas Lindholm who is also now for many other popular futuristic geometric looking fonts. My guess is the cover art designer thought the font named matched the theme and since the font became popular that same year and looked good thought it was a good match. I'm trying to do some "metalheart inspired designs and some fonts were originally mac only, the cd from internet archive only has the windows fonts but I've been able to find most online.

Kim Sohyang is, vocal technique wise, undoubtedly, better. But she has a tone that not many people find pleasing to hear, even with that great technique of hers. Meanwhile Ariana, who also has a good technique, has a tone that is pleasing to the ears because it's a light mix. So some people will prefer to hear Ariana over Sohyang. My favorite singer back in 2014 was Ariana and in 2017 it was Sohyang so they both are great to me.

People need to acknowledge that Ariana is a pop singer and she uses a very soft tone and light approach while Sohyang uses a very dark and heavy gospel approach. In terms of technique, saying that Ariana is better is simply delusional. She has the tone , she has ease in her area but in term of technique she’s not at the same level of Sohyang. The tone is quite subjective. For example, lyrical singers (opera type )can destroy most of pop singers in terms of technique and stamina. But most people don’t listen for the technique and can find that style boring and ugly. That implies with Sohyang , for most people her timbre and tone can be ugly because they prefer a really soft and girlish tone over a dark , metallic tone (even though Sohyang can also use a very light approach as Ariana ). Both are great in their own way

Ariana has the fame, success and talent while that girl is just stuck at bland belting and covering songs, so at the end of the day Ari still has the edge and is better.

This highlights Ariana's more muted sound for me. SoHyang just sounds more open and the belts are less obstructed. Ariana still sounds like the sound is being muddled down or blocked along the way. I also think Ariana's preference for airy vocals weakens the sound of her belts bc her chest voice has become less solid and developed as she leaned into that sound.
