Hi Scott, This is fantastic. I must have one. I have an 8 foot table in a space that is just a little too small. I saw a suggestion to follow along with some other builds but it was not obvious where I could do this. Any help would be appreciated. The other question I had was about leveling the table. Did you take the approach of leveling the rails? Is there something I am not thinking about? Thanks, Tony

Thanks to your help, I finished this kit about 9 months ago. It runs well and I have added some new designs to make it easier to use. It has made very much fun to my life with my wife. I have aspirations to commercialize this kit to fit most pool tables. I would like to contact you for your permission to it.And wanna communicate with you and work together to improve it so that it can be disassembled for transportation and used right out of the box, would you be interested? Looking forward to your reply.Martin

Great job! Don't know if you read comments anymore but would be thankful for information. What brend of the jacks and adjustable posts you got and where? We have a problem with sagging floor and carrying beam destroyed by termites of two story house so tones of work ahead 😓

If your foundation is sinking and you're jacking up from foundation, are you expecting to have to do this again after some years?

I am expecting to have to jack it up again at some point in the future. However, it’s been a couple of years already and it’s holding stable.

Are you still active? I now live in quebec but have a similar issue. Most of my house is on a nice solid slab foundation, but they renovated and added an addition a long time ago, and chose not to put a foundation in the back corner. The house has sagged a little because of it. When I got the home inspected, the inspector suggested I just put in a sonotube 5 ft deep, fill that with concrete, and then put in a jackpost in the back corner. Was wondering if there is anything else I should do.

Years ago your project would have been on the cover of Popular Mechanics, LOL. I think for my purpose I'll just go with pushing the table by hand. Regarding the wheels , what is the inside/outside diameter? There are many types on Amazon but the inside axis should be just so that a regular bolt acts like an axle.

That's good, too. But how about moving left to right and up and down, how you got to do about it? My room can fit only up and down, not left to right, then I might have to do it by using wheel to spinning to see how it work or not. Do you have anything about moving it for left to right and up to down to help me to fit my 7' or 8' that I'm going to buy one and placed it in my bedroom of about 10'×15'.

Isn't this just a Band-Aid, because you fixed only the symptom and not the real problem that caused it to sink to begin with? You didn't improve the footings at all. What happens when it sinks more after this? Not trying to be an azz--it just seems the original cause still exists and the house will continue to sink.
@scrosby1000
@scrosby1000 9 ай бұрын
Fair point, however I’m assuming that the house did the majority of its settling in the first 15 years. The house was built on truck loads of sand. It sunk a few inches during those years. At the start of this video the choice was redo the fondation properly with house piers or the band aid solution. We had an estimate for house piers that was crazy expensive and out of the question. My thought process was « if the settling is 90% done why fix it now ». If the house sinks another inch in the next 10 to 15 years we could just jack it up again. Cost of maybe another $200 since I already have the jacks now. So far the house has remained level and the 10´s of thousands of $$ saved is earning interest in an RRSP. I know this will blow the mind of structural engineers but in real life everything doesn’t need to be done to code. Sometimes the band-aid solution makes $en$e
