I didn’t go for the megabomb or even the power bomb; I ended up going with a cherry bomb!🤣🤣👍

I dont like the DRZ at any level . It's too heavy, uncomfortable . I had one, but I have a 1990 DR350s, which my opinion is a better bike for single track riding . It's lighter. My year is only a kickstart, just a little under on power, but its torque is good, plus it has a 6speed . And no radiator, and its comfortable compare to the DRZ . You think the DRZ is better than the DR, nah? I dont think so .

Xr400 is about 20 pounds lighter than the DRZ400E its closest comparison. DR-Z has a bit more horsepower at 39hp 38Torque. Suspensions travela and clearance is all about the same.... Both hold ridiculous low amounts of Gas if your planning a longer dual sport or adventure bike ride. DR-Z is still produced and even as popular a Honda's are DR-Z is just more abundant at this point. Owned both and loved them both and Currently still have a 04 DR-Z 400. What hurts the XR400R is the oil changes ... The Manuel calls for every 600 miles most say they change out the 1.8 liters of oil every 1000 miles. Still that is a lot oil changes if you are clocking distances. If you were trying to decide and looking hard at a 400r id say skip over it and get a 600R🤩🤩 thats where i think the XR shines.

Does anyone know if this still applies in Colorado? It appears Colorado made it a bit more difficult for UTVs in 2001 but I don't see that they lumped dirt bikes in with that bill at all.

I guess the newer ones got upgraded to this style of fender. I like the RMZ looking one. Mine is stock and it looks like that. Got like a big pecker head on the front of it!

You’re WELL-versed w/ XRs, and Appreciate your content. I’m a ‘Honda Guy’, and really drawn to the XR for my first Dual Sport. The challenge that I face is a R knee reconstruction, which doesn’t lend itself well to kickstarting on trails. Also, I prefer the power range of 400ish CCs; but, as an older guy, I’m always motivated to minimize Weight when possible. Do you have any thoughts on this (dilemma) ? Thank you for the content 🙏

This is an old post, but an aftermarket exhaust does not create power. If you increase fuel/power via the engine you dont want to restrict the exhaust flow with a stock exhaust. But an aftermarket exhaust does nothing with a stock engine.

I have one. Get your brake light fixed. No the bike is not cheap. And easy to work on ? No, shock Reservoir is in the way of carb removable ( bad but I did I it ) You forgot to mention that you can see your front end and the newer bikes the front tire is under you 😁

I have a pair of street legal, '96 XR250R's with IMS 4 gal tanks and SeatConcepts saddles. Excellent lightweight ADV bikes (240 lbs.). Perfect for 3-4 day camping trips on the forest roads around Yosemite! It's not about power, it's about usable power. These bikes never fatigue you. Great all day in the desert sand too.

i raced a guy with a tricked out wr250r with fmf pipe, power commander,etc.. with my totally stock 2008 wr250r with mucho miles on it and handily beat him off the line and up to 75mph. could be a lucky one off , but i think all that after market stuff is a waste. any one up to race a stock wr250, see you in san diego, lets put this issue to rest.

What do you do if you weren't issued a title when you purchased the bike? Also, would I have to go through the whole process of figuring out who the last guy to have the VIN was?
