I don't like Djokovic. He has an uninspiring game. He is dogged and very fit and he is like Toyota, he does anything to make little incremental improvements to give him an edge. He will work on whatever he is weakest at. He has very strong will and self-belief shading into the pathological, but he is not fun to watch nor is he an interesting person. I rank him about 7th all time. He is the most SUCCESSFUL player but not the best. Most of his records due to longevity, lack of injury, persistence, and consistency, rather than greatness. Stats don't make greatness.

Kudos to Wang Liqin who held the number 1 spot for 7 years! The tremendous rule changing to slow down the Chinese (and never during Waldner's period) during the early and mid 2000 created the fluctuation of Chinese players and even forced some of them into early retirement. Then came Zhang Jike, Ma Long , Xu Xin, and Fan Zhendong :-)

No. When your lower tiers of players and coaches "leave" China to go to other countries and play for them or teach their citizens your style of table tennis and then have them compete against your #1's on the world stage, of course you'd win. Because basically, you're just beating your own people or "students" of this game. Until someone can come up with a completely new and better grip that is more versatile than the shake-hand or pen-hold AND the style and techniques to go with said grip that aren't "Made in China" to challenge them, only then will we know if China's "dominance" was/is nothing but a "self-defeating" plot or illusion. And it is my objective to be that "someone." 11/20/23

I means seriously , you think he is even worth mentioning. Then he get on wining against Hewit, Safin, Rodick, even a misserable f Bagdatis then Gonzales etc. He won just one Slam finsl against Djokovic at 2007 USOpen and cople againts Nadal and you dare to call him the GOAT. Get the F... out of here! Nole has beaten Tsonga, himself, Nadal Wwrinka, Murray Thiem, Tsisipass and list goes on. He is beating him by miles!!!!

The three largest automakers 2001-2007 were the following: 2001-2004: 1.General Motors (8.9 million vehicles in 2004) 2.Ford (with Lincoln, Mercury, Mazda, Aston Martin, Jaguar-Land Rover, Volvo; 7.919 million vehicles in 2004) 3.Toyota (including Daihatsu and Hino; 7.87 million vehicles in 2004) 2005 1.General Motors (9 million vehicles) 2.Toyota (with Daihatsu and Hino; 8.4 million vehicles) 3.Ford (including Mazda: 7.78 million vehicles) 2006-2007 1.Toyota (with Daihatsu and Hino; 9.4 million vehicles in 2007) 2.General Motors (9.3 million vehicles in 2007) 3.Ford (including Mazda; around 7.5 million vehicles) 4.Volkswagen (6.26 million vehicles; surpassed Ford as the 3rd largest in 2008 mainly due to Ford's selling of Jaguar and Land Rover)

U.S. might have a chance to regain General Motors' title as the largest automaker, if General Motors just would buy Ford and thereby form a new automanufacturer with five or six car brands: Ford, Lincoln, Chevrolet, Buick and Cadillac (and eventually GMC). General Motors actually attempted to buy the Ford Motor Company in 1909. Although G.M. is much larger than Ford, Ford is however a the largest American car brand, with much more produced vehicles than Chevrolet. Ford is nowadays the only American automaker with production in Europe, since 2017 when G.M. exited Europe by selling out Opel/Vauxhall.
@bjornhebergman87858 ай бұрын
Ford may still have been the second-largest automaker, behind General Motors, in 2003 as well as 2004, as Toyota, including Daihatsu and Hino, had 7.1 million vehicles produced in 2003, in comparison to Ford (including Lincoln, Mercury, Aston Martin, Mazda, Jaguar, Land Rover and Volvo) which had around 7.6 million, and almost 7.92 million in 2004 while Toyota (including Daihatsu and Hino) had 7.87 million. However, Toyota (including Daihatsu and Hino) surpassed Ford as the second-largest automaker in 2005, with 8.4 million produced vehicles, in comparison to Ford which had just 7.78 million (including Mazda; Ford owned 1/3 of Mazda 1996 to November 2008).
