Indonesian here... We had 3 chassis version here. Short, medium, and long wheelbase. And none of them are 6x6. So if you see a 6x6 in Indonesia, it's a custom made.

Is there a transfer box with lockable differentials that can fit on a Fourtrak?

Is there a part 2?
@ZacksOneOffBuilds3 ай бұрын
Unfortunately not, was having a bad time back then so didn't have the motivation to record. My latest video shows a bit more but alot of footage got corrupted :(

I know this is 3 years late but I need to know what transfer case you used in your project. I have a custom build of my own and I need to use the same style transfer case to get the 6x6 in my project.

Are the head studs reusable on the engines?
@ZacksOneOffBuilds4 ай бұрын
They are on these engines, you have to replace torque to yield bolts but these are not that type of bolt

It looks like you have a samurai transfer case in there backwards? Am I seeing that right?
@ZacksOneOffBuilds4 ай бұрын
Very close, it's a Jimny box from an automatic variant. They had transfer boxes 1:1. Awful for using in a Suzuki, perfect for making a cheap 6x6 box

The most important bit - the actual removal of the pump is missing!
@ZacksOneOffBuilds4 ай бұрын
Yeah, unfortunately If I remember correctly my camera died at the time and had no other way to record
@pgwabbott15 ай бұрын
There’s some stuff you could do that would make your videos even more helpful. You could say what size spanner/socket you’re using. How do you remove the crank pulley without turning the engine over instead etc..
@ZacksOneOffBuilds4 ай бұрын
I could do that to be fair, doesn't cross my mind at the time. I can't really think of a way to undo the crank bolt without turning the engine without an impact gun. It isn't going to hurt anything by turning the engine until it locks up to the transmission, because the timing is belt driven it won't hurt to turn the engine over backwards. It's only chains you can't because the chain will slip

@ZacksOneOffBuilds7 ай бұрын
Yeah doing great, I did replace the 4mm pipe with 6mm as I was having leaks and issues with the fittings I used. Since converted from blue push fittings to proper screw on fittings. Been great since

Okay that is a really good idea but here's the only question that I have why is your seat pushed up so far forward do you really drive like that bro
@ZacksOneOffBuilds7 ай бұрын
Lol no, haha I had it forward because I had to get the jump lead out from behind the seat and didn't push it back for the video lmao. At 6ft2 I have to drive with the seat all the way back 😂😂

Looks really good idea mate, do you think the trailing arm will hold when it's fully raised, bet its putting alot more strain on that arm. Mabe abit of strength in to them aswell to cope with it. Keep up the good work😊
@ZacksOneOffBuilds Жыл бұрын
Oh I know that the arms aren't going to handle the stress of the airbags. They'll be fine for now, I'm either going to weld these ones up to be stronger or buy the milner ones as they look very strong, or I guess build my own. One of the reasons I liked the air assist was because it took the strain off the arms and put it directly ontop of the axle

Did you use any sort of machinery to bore out the case and the center of the old differential? Or did you just use a drill press or a hand drill?

@ZacksOneOffBuilds Жыл бұрын
They're called taper lock pulleys, you can buy practically any size pulley to fit any shaft. Just need to buy the outer and inner for the dimensions you want. I got mine off ebay

@markwood9751 Жыл бұрын
Very nicely done fella! Really like the idea of that taper extension to the tailgate! Done a few myself and a replacement bed for my last L200 too. If i may offer one critique though? You lifted the bed by at least 6" i'm guessing ? (100x50 box front to back and then 50x50 box for spacers before the bed spars went on top... am i about right?) Its been 15 years since i found a fourtrak that didn't need the diesel tank replaced! (Maybe you have way better luck where you are!) And well, fact i'm needing one right now for an f78... Even finding a used one good enough to reseal is like trying to find Unicorn turds! Im toying with a Poly tank just now as a direct replacement, off the shelf 70L will fit in the OEM space just have to fab mounting spars! Only pain is the filler/breather are mounted with the fuel sender top/centre and would need to arse around trying to route without it being a pig to fill! Really don't want to go down the internal tank route either, too much hassle with MOT. I guestimate you would have fitted at least a 120L Poly tank under the front half of the bed and had clearance to route filler/breather to that 45 degree cut where the cab meets the bed. Would have allowed you to do away with that overly deep valance around the bed (in my opinion i thought you only had the valance to mount the filler on) PS. Soooo Like if you have a spare f78 tank that isn't like a collider... I have a home for one! 😅 You must also have way better relationship with your MOT examiner than i have with mine. From what you said it sounded like most of those back lights were cheapo Amazon ones? My examiner has always been just "Nope, don't come back without E-marked lights!" and that's with pukka lights, not the dodgy ass ones!
