How will you manage the logistics at seeding with the one prime mover? Are you just thinking you’ll continually switch between the trailer with the new seed and fert setup and the water tanker for spraying?

I feel like we have the opposite problem over in the east this year. No rain on the forecast last week which was fin we have hade good rain most of the cropping season. But instead we got surprise showers most of the week and even though 2-3 mill isn't much it was enough to keep us from spraying most of the week.

Hate to say but willy weather is most inaccurate I've found. Need to look at all apps and take an average over them. Plus John your sounding more and more like Mike Mitchell talking verbal diarrhoea , need to reduce the verbal and the uming and ahring . Nice to see WA farm

Forecasting rain is a bit tricky, particularly frontal and mid level tropical, which is the two we get most of in WA. Use as many sources as you can find - pictures are usually better than apps, then make up your own mind based off as much information as possible. Bom have a tough job - forecasting weather in a country the size of the USA, with a fraction of the budget. And when it’s wrong it’s us that pay the price ….
@stakman783 күн бұрын
Can't wait to see the trailer when it is finished. Those apps are not good. I follow met service here in nz and I judge from the radar myself and get it pretty close. We do see a bit of western Australia from our map.

Sustain is a treatment that put on the urea, its soaked all through the urea unlike a poly coating which is just on the outside

Mate random question from a farmer in central nsw, how do you keep the ground around your shed yard so clean with weeds? Do you spray with a chemical with a residual?
@brianhall38886 күн бұрын
With your problem with the truck unloading into the shed, I just noticed on Lock Valley Farm that they are able to push the roof back on the fert shed and open it right up
@tomsbrookfarm3 күн бұрын
Yer that's the old style Fert sheds, my uncle across the road has one. I would find it rather annoying having to roll the shed roof back every time you want to load as the loader can't fit underneath. But they definitely mean you can empty the truck better!!!!

Have you thought of adding an extended monitor to your spreader
@tomsbrookfarm3 күн бұрын
Not really, there isn't a need to have the extra screen in the spreader. We do have an extra monitor coming for seeding however as there is going to be so much going on through the John Deere screens it made sense to get another monitor to make it easier for the driver
