Yes, around half of the male population experiences male pattern baldness, including myself

Take DHT blockers to help slow it down. When your body processes test it converts it to DHT and for people prone to losing their hair it binds to the hair and causes it to weaken and fall out. I used test and sterouds in my 20s but had no trouble. Other guys their hair really went. You gotta have hair!

I know this is an old video, but it really spoke to me as I just watched it. All the talk from others about having to be steretypically masculine (as ftm) but then in the same breath saying you don't have to be that, was very confusing back when I was trying to discover myself. Just like you, I too thought I just wanted to be seen as/look male and didn't know it was a need. Even to this day I wonder why my dysphoria was so weak during my childhood and early teens when I think back. I did realise that I'm trans at age 15, but I had pondered over it on occasion from about age 12. But not understanding transgenderism well enough back then, and mostly just seeing the medical transition in others and not what lead them to that point (meaning dysphoria, the need for that change, the suffering) I couldn't quite connect the dots and was basically scared into denial. I was never all that masculine in my expression, societal roles, sexuality, or interests and I never quite got along better with one gender or the other. It was always focused on my body and how I perceived myself, alone and with others. Not so much what I did or didn't do, or how I felt. I too tried to live with the body/parts nature had given, but went to the extreme towards femininity instead, overcompensating. Those years in denial really taught me what was necessary for me. My point is, I think that if only people had been more clear about what being trans actually means, my own figuring out myself journey wouldn't have been such a mess. But in reality I don't really blame them, not on a personal level at least. Maybe more indirectly. But it's also very frustrating that still nowadays (if not more so now) people keep pushing this "you don't need dysphoria to be trans" idea that I just can't stand behind, nor understand. I don't even know what to make of it anymore, or what will eventually become of the trans community that keeps dividing and fighting against itself. I always used to be a good peace maker in most kinds of conflicts I find myself in, but not with this. Maybe the conflict is too big. I don't know, only time will tell, I guess.

Yep, it was worse coming toward 1 year on T and a few months after - although my T levels were a bit too high and switching my dose helped. I think it's inevitable to an extent though, and also I still get some but not heaps, in areas where hair is growing in

Kinda confused. Please clarify it for me... Were you born a female and wanna be a male? Or you have low testosterone?
@Dingoslash7 жыл бұрын
It's not a matter of "wanting", it's inherently coded in my brain that my body should be male. But I am transgender and male, or "female-to-male".

It's a testosterone injection. I get them on a certain (lifelong) schedule. Many of the effects are irreversible even if you stop taking testosterone, some may slightly change. If you are interested you can google it.

Where or how do you get testosterone? I'm a dude and all but I'm just curious as to how controlled stuff like that is.
@Dingoslash8 жыл бұрын
It's a medically approved process called hormone replacement therapy. I had to see a psychiatrist and an endocrinologist to be prescribed, after being diagnosed with gender dysphoria and I have my hormone levels checked regularly.
@sc0tte1-4168 жыл бұрын
Dingoslash Ah I see. When I was younger I had low testosterone levels that led to a shitty sex life with whoever I was with, and it led to arguments etc because I 'wasn't in the mood'. I'm fine now, but I would think that this would have helped me in my late teens/early 20s.
@Dingoslash7 жыл бұрын
Ah I see, I believe it is possible to get it if you have medically low testosterone levels for a male, you'd still have to go through medical professionals to get it legally though.
