Sometimes he looks like he can't wait to go home. That's great. I listen to him since the late 70s. I never got tired like him.

First time I listened to Jack knife Gypsy my life changed. Bonnie is amazing on this song, Leo puts a fantastic spin on it. Paul Siebel wrote a fine fine song!!!

I think the only time in this man's life when he isn't holding a guitar is when he's asleep. It is literally an extension of his body.

Does anyone know the correct tuning? I guess it might be tuned down a half step for less stress on the 12-string neck. But is it that way all the way across?

OMG. I've been listening to this song for decades, and I just now realized, it's not "lies" as in "tells a lie"; it's "lies" as in "lies down dead". I always felt like "lies" was like a "pre-echo" for "dies", but he just shied away from saying the word. Suddenly the words make sense. "tell me how I could see you now ...". "watch their little days, turning into dark." "Underneath the trees tonight where little men sleep" doesn't just mean under the branches. Is "Sunnyland Park" maybe "Sunnyland Memorial Park"? This is a dark song.

I've been listening to this song for decades too. The first time I heard it was while attending a Leo concert in Manhattan in 1992. I am convinced that he is calling everybody a liar. Though your alternative explanation is intriguing.
