In DRC-Sim Server, I see nothing under my get key dropdown. How can I troubleshoot the network adapter? Its a TP-LINK TL-WN822N. Does the card need to be 5ghz compatible?

I cannot get it to connect to the Wii U. Every other step before it worked completely fine. I am using the same Linksys AE1000 adapter, I made sure to install the drivers. I tried to use VirtualBox and it didn't work. I switched to VMWare and followed your instructions exactly. Didn't work. I switched to the exact same version of Ubuntu you're using in this video, and it didn't work. I have re-input the code repeatedly, over and over again wondering if I had entered it wrong. Didn't work. The adapter appears in the network section of my devices, the adapter has been added to the VM, I made sure the adapter supports 5ghz in the VM. It still cannot find the console. I have tried moving it right next to the console, I've tried restarting the Wii U, I've tried removing the extender it came with and using the stick alone, and yet it still cannot connect to the Wii U. I have wasted the past 8 hours troubleshooting and I legitimately do not know what I've done wrong or what I can do to fix this.

Hey what do i do when the Ubuntu doesn’t recognise my usb wifi adapter as a possible Wi-Fi adapter. It does show up when I use the command lsusb but somehow Linux doesn’t recognise it a Wi-Fi adapter. And no additional Wi-Fi ports are shown in ifconfig.

Hi! Thank you for the video :D I don't currently have a wifi adapter. Would my normal internet connection work if I have optical 5 GHz connection or is that something different? Also, the Wii U I wanna do this on its a EU one, but I also have an NA with gamepad. If I connect the NA gamepad to the EU console with sys-config and then I link the gamepad to its NA console, wouldI have to enter sys-config again if I want to link the NA to the EU console (and would I still need DRC-SIM via Ubuntu) or is the EU console region free forever?

Does this require a modded wii u? I was hoping this tool could be used to mod a gamepad-less system.

Recently acquired a Wii U without a gamepad (can't even change the Wii U's language or time!) and tried this. After a few hours, I finally got Ubuntu successfully running under VM, but the DRC client's "Get key" option is BLANK. Tried my laptop, two DLink USB adapters and a Netgear, none of them recognized! This is frustrating as my Acer laptop's built-in network adapter (Atheros QCA9377) supports 5 GHz dual band and AP as far as I'm aware, but don't see a way to link it to the virtual OS. Sigh.

Can't believe using drc-sim is such a breeze now.

Hello, Would the TP-Link AC1300 wifi adapter work for this? I believe I set it up correctly, as everything works until I try to connect to my wii u. If it doesn't, what would be some good (cheap) options for wifi adapters?

i keep having issues with the interface being discovered after using different wifi adapters etc. It shows up in removable devices. im using the netgear ac 6000 most recently thinking it would solve my problem

So I actually just did this a while ago and it was kind of a mess in ways. The application window was smaller than it should be and it did not resize. I had to modify the scripts to make it display all UI elements. After that it was a bit touch and go. I used my laptop's built-in wifi adapter (GPD Win Max 2) and I was able to get it to work. All I needed was: 1. Install Ubuntu per this video's instructions 2. Edit script to change window size from 300x150 to 900x450 in /opt/drc/... 3. Connect laptop to ethernet via USB hub 4. Follow instructions based on this video 5. Installed Aroma and paired a gamepad (different region) I had. Glad my new $15 wii u (+ extra gamepad) worked well. Installing Aroma + Tiramisu is a bit scary but at least make sure you never close the application since you can't pair the gamepad while environment loader is open. You can just keep restarting the server without pairing without issues. Then set up Aroma to autoboot and then once it's setup, you can pair any Wii U gamepad. Con is you can't use stock and Tiramisu mode as it will complain about your gamepad being out of region because Nintendo got to Nintendo.

Just to make it a little clearer as to the WiFi adapter, all an adapter needs is to have 5GHz capabilities and support AP as an interface mode. In linux, the command to check is "iw list"

I have an issue. When my feed gets shown in the client, it lasts only for a few seconds and then everything disconnects. I also cannot click OK while it is being shown. I have tried both Android and Windows clients. Do you know how to solve it?
