If I remember correctly the owner of Mercadona has a family member with food alergies. This is the motive why they have a lot of gluten free or lactose free/vegan products on shelf.

But very little in Mercadona now ( the cheddar, yes). Prices have increased so much in last couple of years. Ok, they pay their staff well, but now prefer Economy, Consum or Lidl.

I wish English supermarkets were like this, I’m a cook and I just love that they sell this variety of stuff like chicken carcasses and rabbits and quail and Partridge and pigs ears everything. There are so many amazing recipes that you can make with what they sell there. And you’re absolutely right that meat does look so fresh and lovely. Brilliant, I’ve got to get myself to Spain right away! 😊 Thanks

I love shopping at Mercadona. Their prepared paella is really good, if you like paella.

If you're resident in Spain and want to sell in order to buy somewhere else, I presume there's no capital gains tax?....I'm assuming capital gains tax is only applicable when your Spanish property is your 2nd home?....

My favourite restaurante in the área, go about 3 times a year, great choice of set menú, soup is very filling but delicous 🎉
