If it's so good there, why are the Mexicans leaving there to come to the United States to live?

Welcome to Mexico! Tons of blessings for the three of you. Enjoy the best of the country, learn from its culture, and blend into the many communities. As any other country, there is a range of ways of living but just go along with everybody and be happy!

The markets in Mexico City are good for some pantry items but fruit and vegetable prices are outrageous. I like to support small vendors but I never purchase produce from the markets because I got tired of paying more than I paid when I lived in NYC.

Ok, but if you're married to a mexican national and you don't have to prove economic solvency, do THEY need to provide financial solvency in the form of proving they can financially support their spouse who would be a temp resident and therefor unable to work? I am moving to a tiny pueblo in rural Jalisco and she owns her own house so we barely need to pay for anything but food and utilities. She doesn't work and I won't be able to for 2 years.

No- Mexican nationals petitioning family do not need to provide economic solvency for their family members

I haven't been to Mexico yet, but I live in Guatemala and previously lived in Costa Rica. Very much everything you listed is an issue in central America as well. We don't drinking tap water here in guate either. Costa Rica was by far the worst in terms of neighborhood noise, dogs parking all hours, excessive honking. In addition, CR has dangerous roads, with too many reckless drivers, manholes without covers. Did I mention animal and human waste on the sidewalks and every corner. Welcome to Latin America!

So many subject you’ll spoke about applies to visitors across the globe. Don’t show off your money, cloths or don’t over tip as locals do get affected by your behavior. Thanks for sharing and teaching us.

lived here parttime since 1989 and permanente since 2012, I always use only tap water in my house in Bucerias. never been sick. I think bottled water is a scam, every Mexican house has the large bottle.

One of the questions I was hoping you would answer but did not was whether once we get through the first part of the process and we go to Mexico to the immigration office to complete the second part of the process, do we actually need an address in Mexico? Assuming we're not ready to move their quite yet, we wouldn't have an address there but only be traveling for a vacation and to complete the temporary residence Visa process. Would you please clarify that? Another major question that was unclear was whether if you have a spouse, should you apply up front at the Mexican consul office in the US as a married couple or should you just apply as an individual and then add the spouse on the visit to Mexico after completing the visit in the immigration office and getting the card? How long in Mexico after obtaining the individual card would you have to budget to add the spouse?

Thank you! This video really helped me to understand shopping from another perspective. I’ve been a part of Mexican communities and have lived in Mexico for over a year. Even so I always learn something new from your content. You have a way of explaining that is both interesting, thorough and clear for some one who’s lived most of my life in the USA. I enjoy and appreciate local shopping here in small town Michoacán most of the time. However, I smile at myself that now I enjoy a shopping trip to a big box store as a sort of treat to a familiar space and to find brie cheese or black tea in bags. I think it’s just an immigrant reality-honestly I seldom shopped at big box stores in the US, preferring farmer’s markets, tianguis, flea markets, etc. I think in the US I did much of my shopping online.
