Thank you much Mariana for this wonderful and clear presentation. We are having our first meeting next week with Jonathan "The-Go-To-Guy" from Merida to start our residency process. This video helped me getting prepared for our meeting 😊

I did my canje in La Paz and used the MRG vetted facilitator. Went as smooth as silk. I cannot recommend enough to use a facilitator. I quickly learned when researching Mexico how out of date some info was. MRG was the best purchase i made in my move for current vetted info!!

Hi, Mariana: Thank you for this great video! I just got my VISA yesterday at the Consulate in San Francisco, CA. BUT, they are not doing VISAs there normally, I had to get my appointment through my Congressman. I contacted my Congressman because I could not get through to the SF Consulate, the Sacramento Consulate, and the San Jose Consulate. The web site/whatsapp was very problematic and I could only find appointments in Los Angeles or San Diego. It turns out they are steering all Northern California folks to Southern California. (Think of the expense of a plane ride, hotel, meals, just for an appointment.) So, that is a tip for cutting through the red tape, ask your elected official's office to help. PS. I just got a e-mail reply from the Sacramento office, and I will forward it to you via e-mail in case you want to include the info in your relocation guide. Now, back to your video!

Mariana, thank you so much for your time and energy sharing information with us as to the best way to make our relocation to Mexico as smooth as possible. I do plan on purchasing your Relocation Guide because it seems like that best of getting the help needed with the least amount of stress. And I personally feel it's worth the money in order to do things right.

Thank you. FYI, It took me more than 1 year to get an appointment at the Seattle Consulate. They are very busy. They are the only consulate for all of Washington and Alaska. I sent emails and a couple of polite follow-up emails. Once I finally got the invitation and the appointment date, everything I needed to do was clearly stated and easy enough to do on my own. I will be using a facilitator in Mexico for my next step.

Hola Mariana! Just a quick note regarding any stamps in your passport. You have to renew your passport every ten years and when you do you have to relinquish your old passport with those stamps showing you had visited Mexico in the past.... You know me, I'm a story teller and I'll leave a few more tidbits of knowledge I've garnered along my journey to residency when I get back from cena. BTW- I'm going out for a few 14 peso al pastor tacos con todo, mmmm! I have a bunch dogs to say hola to on my walk there. WOOF! WOOF! desde tu amigo en la hermosa Ensenada!

She is physically able to travel as any adult but is challenged . Wish I was able to watch live so I could have asked in person

One of the questions I was hoping you would answer but did not was whether once we get through the first part of the process and we go to Mexico to the immigration office to complete the second part of the process, do we actually need an address in Mexico? Assuming we're not ready to move their quite yet, we wouldn't have an address there but only be traveling for a vacation and to complete the temporary residence Visa process. Would you please clarify that? Another major question that was unclear was whether if you have a spouse, should you apply up front at the Mexican consul office in the US as a married couple or should you just apply as an individual and then add the spouse on the visit to Mexico after completing the visit in the immigration office and getting the card? How long in Mexico after obtaining the individual card would you have to budget to add the spouse?

Thanks Mariana. I’m a US born citizen. I married a Mexican man who has all his legal papers from Mexico (all current). We’ve been married 40+ yrs & travel to Mexico City a couple times a year. I’d like to get legal residency in Mexico because we’d like to live there for awhile. If I love it, it may be permanent. We’re thinking of renting our house out in Texas, near the end of the year to rent somewhere in Toluca or Querétaro. So my question is…, on my next trip (example 1 week FMM) & I let it expire, while in Mexico would I need to make an appt in the Mexican embassy to request permanent residency (4 yrs)? Is that the best way?

you should work with a facilitator who will tell you what documents need to be apostilled and translated and what to bring. they are still issuing FMMs but they are digital at most airports

Hello Marianna, I was not able to attend your live session yesterday but have watched it, thank you. Questions: 1. Do you have vetted immigration "facilitators" located in the Lake Chapala area you would recommend? I am in the middle of the Canje process and need to initiate the last step before Oct 1 2024. 2. I also believe you said once one has received the TRV from a consulate, one should go ahead and reach out to a "facilitator" now even though, for me, I won't arrive in Chapala until Sept 1 2024. Is this correct? Thanks.
@MexicoRelocationGuide
@MexicoRelocationGuide 3 ай бұрын
yes I have a list of recommendations in Chapala and in Guadalajara and yes you can reach out to one now even if you don’t plan to apply until September 😀 when you buy our guide you get instant Ccess to our directory of contacts mexicorelocationguide.com/guide/

If TR if going to expire in next 20days so can still get TR Extension..?
@MexicoRelocationGuide
@MexicoRelocationGuide 2 ай бұрын
Don't let your TR expire. You should plan to renew it. If you are in Mexico, you can start the renewal up to 30 days before. If you are not in Mexico, you have up to 55 days after it expires to still renew it. However, once you enter Mexico on an expired TR you have 5 days to start the process at INM

I visited QRO in 2019. I flew in and filled out the FMM. My passport was not stamped. I do not have the FMM anymore. Is there a way I can prove my visit in 2019 if I wanted to pursue the special residency program?

@@MexicoRelocationGuide and thank you for the reply on this. I will probably set up a appointment with the McAllen Texas location. My retirement is right at their amount required. I will be purchasing your package at work with your Morelia contacts once I have been approved for temporary residence.

I've been watching soooo many videos. I understand if we come to Mexico for 179 days. Leave, get passport stamped. Then come back and forth, until 4 years goes by. Then you're automatically a Mexican citizen. LOL Probably all wrong. 😂 Oh. Gracias, I will download your form. Single old lady moving solo. Still don't know where to move exactly. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I'd hire you! 🌹 I do FaceTime on Facebook. Have spoken to friends in Greece and Australia. But I'll check out WhatsApp

If you qualify for, apply for, and are granted TEMPORARY RESIDENCY visa in the Mexican Consulate at your US/Canada home city, you may then renew it for 4 consecutive years (with renewal fees each year) and then it transitions into a PERMANENT RESIDENCY visa. Not citizenship!
@firstlast1047
@firstlast1047 3 ай бұрын
@dannance3979 A small correction. The Mexican consulate/embassy in your home country grants a visa to apply in MX for Residente Temporal or Permanente. This is done with additional paperwork applying at a local INM (Instituto Nacional de Migración),Unless it has changed, this process must be initiated within 30 days of arriving in MX. The visa issued by the consulate also allows you to remain in MX as a tourist for 180 days...non extendable.
