Mark, That 5000watt generator will be plenty of power. I got a Champion 3500watt inverter/generator for going into the boonies. Put a bracket on front of my trailer above the propane tanks. But like you said... IT's Heavy. They also have a component you can add to your AC electrics called 'Softstart'. It helps ease the load when the AC is started up, all for doing those campin' trips in the 'off grid' situations. Amazon has a deal now, an 899.oo unit for 699.oo. What a deal, but you're all set I can see. OH, make sure to order some desert with the dinner with your daughter. Might as well celebrate! thanax.

Brother, what a great job you did pulling that lift together! Nice work, Itchy. You do clean up well(that was a great line🤣) That ball cap topic is an interesting one that has bugged me a while; maybe having grown up in a similar way, rural farm life, you don’t wear a hat in Church without question, you never wear a hat to the table, but that a gentleman take his hat off whenever you go indoors period. And I’ll admit, I’ve fallen short over the last number of years, wearing a ballcap indoors to most places ie; the gym, the grocery store, watch a ball game at a sports bar, a breakfast diner, etc… I feel like society has taken it to a whole nuther level, wearing hats IN Church, IN nice restaurants, and I don’t think it’s asking too much to leave it at home or in the truck. Took my mom to an Easter Brunch a couple years back, $95 a plate, kind of “cleaned up” a bit for the brunch. I counted 5 yahoos that came thru the door wearing ballcaps, and it really rubbed me the wrong way. Since, I’ve had more of an awareness of as much and see the same thing at nice steakhouses or other nice restaurant establishments. Men getting lazy, cleaning up a bit isn’t too much to ask. Remembering how those old farmers I grew up around, tan lines across their foreheads, working like a dog 8 days a week, but when they came in to town for a Church dinner, a town potluck, a fish fry at the Legion Hall, everyone of those men cleaned up leaving the hat in the truck or at home. I think we need to get back to that.

I agree with you 100 percent on the ballcap issue. It irks me when I see people posting their Christmas dinner pictures on Facebook and there are a couple of people wearing their ballcaps, at the table! Cheers.

You might could remove the crank handle and use screw gun to lift it instead of the crank handle.
@itchymocheКүн бұрын
It’s hydraulic and not a screw.

When I was in boot camp you learned thru the door cover (hat) off, out the door cover (hat) on. If you forgot to take your cover off or on you would be punished and regretted your mistake. I don't wear a hat anymore, I have plenty enough hair. It upsets me to go into a restaurant and see men wearing their hat. Did their mother never teach them anything?

Hi itchy, I'm a lot like you and scratch my head trying to figure stuff out sometimes. I used to be a fabricator, but have you considered using your receiver hitch as a mounting point? This would make easy removal of the crane. You may need to put an 90 degree offset to get the clearance you would need to clear everything. The tubing is common and can be found at machine shops ' Hope this helps.

We did consider that option.

Did you film the unboxing of the generator or the crane by chance? If so those would both be an awesome video. Unboxing and setup/reviewing of both would gain you some new subscribers if you put the name of each product in your title and thumbnail!! Just an idea!

Your idea about the plate on top was exactly what I was thinking before you mentioned it. What if ya did the same thing under the truck? Put a mounting plate underneath. Wondering if you used Loctite on the bolts.

Mark, keep in mind that most universities have an Agriculture Dept. and there is always at least one person that is very knowledgeable on how to combat all kinds of bugs. I had a problem about 20 years ago with fire ants. I made contact with a Prof. at LSU and he put me onto a powder that he University perfected. I bought it and went by the instructions to sprinkle the powder on the mound at dusk. The next morning the mound was flat and no more ants because the queen was dead. The info is better than the internet since you look and get scores of suggestions. Prayers and Abundant Blessings to you and yours. 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏✝🛐❤
