I just found this on Mercari! The look of it caught my eye too... At first I thought it was some type of electrical thing for a car but when I saw it was a game I was instantly enamored.

The randomness in this game is perfectly thematic. I worked in healthcare for 20 years, and it is obviously a very unpredictable field. There are no "meaningful" decisions about what patients and how many will come at any given time. The one element I house rule out is the training. I draw three and pick one. That makes much more sense thematically.

I like how simple and fast it is actually. I think you could have captured that one more on line 4, by placing the 5 shape not directly below it, but one further down (as long as corners of a shape can go over already drawn corners, but surely they musy be able to)

At the end of all your rolls, go back and check if you have doubles in any of your turns. If so, take one die and play it against the double. ie, on turn five you got double 6, so you have a 6 + what ever you roll. eg 6+2 or 6+4

41:44 When you reshuffled the movement deck, you should have increased the guard die immediately. He would then have moved back to the Safe location before your next turn.

-I believe the rule book says that you do not keep any power that you do not use. -Also it has to be one hero that can take both hearts to defend against a dire enemy. I do feel like the way you did it makes more sense though, would make for better strategy/cooperation.

For that final boss attack, when you pull a Machine Cult card, what does ”the highest-cost” card refer to when you only draw one card anyway? The highest in the trade row?

2:34 Thanks for clearing that up. I was confused about that because one of the other solo challenges has you shuffle some Scouts and Vipers into the Boss deck. Edit: Wow, that was brutal. I just finished my game and got slaughtered with the AI Authority at 96 and me at 0. I didn't stand a chance.

Good video but my only suggestion. Less talking to other people online and get right to the teaching of the game. I’m waiting for you to start the game for the the first 20 minutes and by that time I said. Oh hell know I can’t wait and fast toward the video. Plus you keep pulsing and swallowing you saliva and get distracted. I just want to hear you about the game and people don’t need to wait a hour. That’s why you only have only 8 comments in over 2 years.

A note according to the revised rules on Tom's website: When you placed your first armor card (the 3 of diamonds) the rules state that you must place it on the royal most similar to it. In that moment that would have been the jack of diamonds. I kind of like having the choice to place it on any royal you want however. Additionally the rules don't specify if you are allowed to place armor while still having ploys (or power cards) available. Since they score your game at the end though it makes sense you can choose to place armor instead. Are there any rules revisions you've made that make the game more enjoyable other than the stated above?
@kosterix123
@kosterix123 3 ай бұрын
I would say "If you have a ploy, you may either add the card as armor or use the ploy during the placement of the card. RAW You're not allowed to choose the royal, it's suit first, color next, then any royal, ties break by lowest value." my interpretation: Lowest value, not lowest health.

@@annad5130 value is the sum of royal health (11,12,13) plus any numbered cards that strengthen it (2-10). Does that help? Otherwise point out more precisely what your confusion is.

yes to place armor via a recipe kind of takes away agency without a good reason. You're already in trouble as it is, and the luck of the draw can be already brutal.

It doesn't come up during the video, but I assume all scoring from standard cribbage is in play and you'd score "2 for his heels" if the starter card were a jack?

Finding this 3 years later, but I like this video. It's honest. Hahah! This scenario is brutal. I just started playing like a week ago. I play a TON of Arkham LCG - equally brutal at times - and some of this translates. That said - the difficult part of this game to me coming in NOW is that there are a billion cards, and I don't like looking up lists. The only weird thing (as I can't come up with a better word) is that you go into scenarios blind. Then you you get stomped. Tweak your deck, etc. With Arkham you always know you need clues and to mitigate monsters. I suppose in this you could say you will always need will and to mitigate monsters... but man, it's tough. This video is great because this scenario, I would imagine, stomps new people all the time. Nice to see I'm not alone.

Use a Cribbage board for keeping track of points. Also score hand 1st then the crib. This way you keep it legal during 2 or more player games. I did it and got to 80. I was thinking about doing a double solitaire version. Like a two player but after going through the deck. Start over with the other pegs and see if you can beat the previous pegs.

This version can easily be played in the hand. I was looking for a cribbage solitaire that would work that way, and this one is simple enough that it does. I'm right handed, so in my description I use left for the hand that holds the draw deck and right for the hand that holds the four cards in your hand, but you can switch them, of course. I kept score in my head; more on that later. Draw six cards from the top of the face-down draw deck and turn them over. Keep four of them in right hand, face up. Discard the other two to the crib by placing them, face down, back on top of the draw deck in your left hand. Draw the top four cards of the face-down draw deck. Keep them face down, and put them into your right hand, under the face-up cards. You now have, in your right hand, your hand face up and the crib hand face down. Turn the top card of the draw deck face up, to be the starter card. Score your hand (the four cards plus the starter card.) Then place those four cards face up in the back of the deck in your left hand. Turn the crib hand cards face up. Score them (the four cards plus the starter card,) and place the four cards face up in the back of the draw deck in your left hand. In the video, at this point you put the starter card at the back of the draw deck. The first time I played, I did this, by fanning out my draw deck to find the last of the face-down cards and placing the starter card face down behind it. But that was unwieldy for playing in the hand, so I tried just leaving the starter card on top of the draw deck, to be part of the next six cards drawn, and that seemed to work fine. In practice, I didn’t keep the two hands in my right hand the whole time. After I turned over the starter card and saw what it was, I returned the eight cards to the top of the draw deck, fanning them out to look at them, along with the starter card. Anyway, continue until the last four cards you draw are the last face-down cards in the draw deck. Score them as a hand, and that’s the end of the game. Now about the scoring. Here’s how I did it. Suppose the first hand had scores of 1,2,2,2. So as I look at the card that scores 1, I say “One.” (Maybe out loud, or if I’m in public place, to myself.) As I look at the next scoring cards, I count by twos, saying “Three.” Then “Five, seven.” If I don’t see any more scoring combinations, I memorize the “seven” by saying “seven” several times. Now suppose the crib hand has scoring combinations of 2,2, and 3. I remember the “seven”, so I continue from there as I look at each of the combinations: “Nine, eleven, fourteen.” I memorize the “fourteen.” And so on. If I have to interrupt my game and put it away mid-game, I make a special effort to memorize the last score. If I pick it up hours later, I can probably still remember what the number was. If I have, for example, three of a kind, I don’t think of it as a score of 6. Instead, I look at the three pairs and think of it as 2,2,2, and add those to the score, counting by twos. Counting by twos or threes is easier than adding 6. I tried this while trotting after my husband as he was shopping. I scored 62 (the goal according to the video is 81.) There were a couple of reasons why I suspect the score was so low: 1. I’m not a cribbage player, so I probably missed some combinations. 2. I was adding in my head while running around King Soopers and being constantly interrupted, so I may not have remembered the previous score correctly. But it was a fun diversion, and I think it worked pretty well. I like to keep a deck of cards in my purse for times when I’m out and about. Earlier in the day I was playing follow-the-suit solitaire while waiting in the doctor’s office, and got to wondering if there was a cribbage solitaire that could be played in the hand. My search led me here.

This is one of my favourite games. There is so much in this little box to really pack a punch 😊 Even though I beat every monster throughout the years I never used the "campaign sheet" because, to be honest,I didn't understand it and still don't ! Hope to see you tangle all the monsters.....you are a very good player and explain the rules very well.Thank you so much from my armchair 😊 Yes, limited in my movements for the time being,very frustrating but Clever and a few Smart IS gAmes are keep the little grey cells ticking ! Have hundreds of games and all I can do is admire the boxes....My table is missing me as much as I am missing it ! All the Best from the UK.

I just got this game a few days ago. I haven't played it with anyone else yet, but tomorrow should fix that, but I have tried it solo and it's really great. One thing I did spot, at 8:05 you replaced a 6 with double 3's. Now I still don't pretend to be an expert on the rules, but does it not take a greater number on the die/dice to kick other dice off cards? But your video was great and I really enjoyed it, thanks for posting.
