You would use Beer's Lambert Law, replacing sample thickness with the light path length (d) through your sample.

For instence (Fist row value of Absorbance and absorption coefficient ), If we divide 1.33/(4*10^-6), it should be ~10^6 not as you calculated ~10^-7.

delete this video...because it misleads the viewers...according to this video one can carry the band gap value desirably by changing the y-axis range..... The y-axis must start from zero because the energy at alpha*hv = 0 gives the badgap

Absorption coefficient α=2.303 (A/d) where (A) is the absorbance (d) is the sample thickness (cm).

The steps are very clear, thanx for that. However, the ratio of each compound was not given! You should provide the following information: (1) the ratio of the metal precursor to the solvent and (2) the amount of sodium hydroxide solution that was added to the metal solution.

In my opinion α is ABS/0.4343/length of sample, due to ABS = log(Io/I) but we have I = Io*exp(-α*length) so ln(Io/I)= α*length. ABS is in log not ln

By using Scanning electron microscope (SEM) use image j software to find thickness of the powder. For film thickness a digital vernier caliper or a meter easily available.
