how do you disconnect the hot/cold lines/valves to handles once connected? the moen quick connect lines. i need to remove to tighten the underside nut of the handles

Ahhh you're no fun. Don't be afraid to cut a stud if it's in the way. Always check if it's load bearing and use your best judgment. This wall was non-load bearing. Tradesmen "carve" studs all the time for ventilation, electrical wiring, plumbing, etc. Carving one little stud won't make the house fall down.

Thanks. I did mine, but used the old top mounting ring, because it seemed fine and my new Moen fit the one from the old Insinkerator. Do you ever do that? Thanks

Thank You. You saved me $284 on installation. That’s how much Home Depot wanted. Did it myself. Wasn’t quick for me because the Moen Prep didn’t fit exactly as the badger. Different pipe size to the drain. 24 hours later and it’s all dry under the sink.

I installed my first Moen Garbage Disposal and noticed a metal clunking noise when it first starts, then it’s really quiet. Is everybody experiencing that initial noise? Just wondering.

I would say no. You risk tearing the cardboard and damaging the floor.

As a fat person, I’d like to see a clear shot showing how far I can safely pull the stove out, without damaging connections. I’m sure it varies, but if I need to have a thin person come to fit in that spot, I’d like to plan ahead. Alternatives to the tools would be good. Masonite boards - what else could I use instead of going out to buy those? I have furniture sliders. And are there wrench extensions that would make the shutoff valve accessible if the hose is very short?

how do you push it back it place? the masonite wasn't flus to the wall when he pulled the sto out.

Great question. I left a space between the wall and the masonite on purpose. If you made the board flush to the wall, it would be very difficult to slide out the masonite. I usually leave a one foot space. Push the back legs on to the floor, if you scratch the floor under the stove in the back, you'll never see it and this is an acceptable method. The key is not to scratch the floor in the visual areas by keeping the masonite on the front legs and bringing the entire range (and back legs) on to the full boards.

I did some research. They sell this product at Menards here in the Midwest; it's called 1/8 x 2 x 4 Hardboard Handi-Panel and it costs $5.00 per sheet.
