As simple as I expected, but it's always nice to be sure.

I have wanted to pull out my range to clean but didn’t dare. Now I know I can do this. Thanks so much.

Thank you so much! We're installing a new range tomorrow so i wanted to check how to properly do it as it honestly doesn't make sense to hire someone for something so simple

Thanks for this! We need to deep clean our floors where the oven has been and this is a great video find to be sure how to take out the oven without damaging anything or having any gas leaks.

Thank you for the tip to use Masonite to protect the floor. I had service person that scratched my floor and didn’t tell me. I had signed off before noticing.

Hi Nathan, would you recommend this when replacing a gas stove to a electric? And what can you put to clog or close the opening once you turn off gas valve?
@maybeerainmaybeesnow Жыл бұрын
Thanks!
@joeskis11 ай бұрын
I would have thought after shutting off the valve you would bleed out the gas in the flex hose by turning on your range until the flames went out. That way you know where the gas went.

Very informative video! I was curious about possibly having a cap on the gas line until my new one arrives. Do you know what size the gas lines typically are?

As a fat person, I’d like to see a clear shot showing how far I can safely pull the stove out, without damaging connections. I’m sure it varies, but if I need to have a thin person come to fit in that spot, I’d like to plan ahead. Alternatives to the tools would be good. Masonite boards - what else could I use instead of going out to buy those? I have furniture sliders. And are there wrench extensions that would make the shutoff valve accessible if the hose is very short?

Should the gas line be capped if it’s not going to be used or is the shut off valve enough?
@ania3663 Жыл бұрын
Should I replace my gas line when I receive my new range or is that not necessary to replace it unless there is something wrong with the current gas line (Orange hose)?
@measuretwicetv2281 Жыл бұрын
I always recommend replacing the line so everything is new at the same time. Less chance of having a leak, plus you already have the open space during the range switch out,so it’s a lot simpler to replace the line now and then you don’t have to worry about it for another 10-20 years.

Would might light the Burner or Burners first, turn off valve to burn off any gas first. Might also say, no Teflon Tape or Pipe grease or whatever it's called needed?
@measuretwicetv22812 жыл бұрын
No Teflon tape or pipe grease is necessary to disconnect.

Hello if the gas pipe(yellow pipe) is covered in oil from cooking should I be worried?, I cleaned the wall behind it but am worried about the gas pipe being covered in oil? Please help
@measuretwicetv2281 Жыл бұрын
The best thing to do is to clean the oil off the gas line or replace it.

Do I have to turn off the gas in the basement if my kitchen line has a cut-off valve?
@measuretwicetv22812 жыл бұрын
No, you should be fine. There will be a little gas smell initially. If the smell persists, then yes, turn off the gas in the basement.

When the gas the closed, should i get a cap to screw in so gas doesn't leak out?
@measuretwicetv22812 жыл бұрын
Gas should not be leaking out with a closed valve, so it should be fine. If you smell gas call your local utility company for an assessment.
@measuretwicetv22812 жыл бұрын
If gas is leaking out with a closed valve, you’ll have to replace the valve. Shut the gas off at the gas meter.
@clarkebates2317 Жыл бұрын
I thought when the valve is perpendicular to the gas line, that means the valve is open?

You would still need the protector board due to there weight.

Where do you purchase Masonite?
@markchapin71495 ай бұрын
I did some research. They sell this product at Menards here in the Midwest; it's called 1/8 x 2 x 4 Hardboard Handi-Panel and it costs $5.00 per sheet.
@measuretwicetv22815 ай бұрын
Home Depot sells it also
@MlSSadventure3 ай бұрын
I’m planning on just using furniture sliders, or a couple old bath mats.
@cetusipy Жыл бұрын
Bro are you selling Masonite boards or something? Why is 80% of the video about these boards? It's really weird.
@measuretwicetv228111 ай бұрын
It’s the Masonite conspiracy theory. “These are not the Masonite boards you are looking for.” The video is about protecting your floor from damage with Masonite. The generic term is hardboard, maybe that’s less offensive to you. What’s weird is your focusing on the word Masonite instead of the content of the video. And yes, I wish I was making a profit from saying Masonite a thousand times, that’s not weird, that’s smart .
@measuretwicetv228111 ай бұрын
To begin, the word "Masonite" is a brand name for "hardboard". It has been commonly known as "masonite" after the founder of the Masonite Corporation, William Mason, invented this wood product in 1924.
