Do you happen to know which synth Vangelis used on the Heaven and Hell album. I mean the one near the end of the Cosmos part? It sounds similar to the CS80, it always gives me goosebumps when I hear it. KZfaq recommended your channel and I've instantly subbed. Goed bezig 😀

It was worth watching, Jose, not just because of how great it sounds. I’ve always wondered what people did with a set of Taurus pedals set next to the sustain pedal of an electric grand.

Not close up, @@josesvintagekeys. I do know that during the last Led Zeppelin tour, John Paul Jones placed his older Dunn paddleboard under his own Yamaha electric grand which was cased in a pure white façade to match his GX-1 (which JPJ later gifted to ABBA’s Benny Andersson). I wondered if JPJ simply did not include the sustaining system on the CP70.

65% of people know what they are listening for, ie the softer, richer, organic sound... the other 35% like the 'brightness" of the vsts. I soent a while a/bing my juno 60 with roland cloud. They dont sound the same. But in the mix, the roland cloud version is good enough for most things, and takes up a lot less space in my little studio.

I used to do the "wine glasses" chords on Solina too, I knew it wasn't Solina on the original but it made a nice substitute. But then I realised it undermines the lonely sound of the high single notes on the Solina. Now I use a "glass harmonica" type patch from a more modern synth for the wine glasses chords and Solina for the high notes, I'm happy with that.

Great jam. i'd also have a fire extinguisher close by with that collection of gear. Question: Have you ever compared your CS-80 to any VSTs or clones like a Deckard's Dream? The CS-80 just has "that sound" no other synth has.
