Your video was the only one who mentioned having to possibly hit the zero two times. So that was a total of three with the zero at end. Then two more. And finally it worked. Omg I’ve been at this for over a hour. And I had to re program my car hand helds’ cuz other videos messed up the garage opener it’s self LOL.

I couldn’t figure out the ID number so just started inputting numbers from 1-10. Eventually got to a number that worked.

crazy question.. Do you know the distance measured from the top to the bottom mounting brackets on the sides of your 8500 opener box frame? I am working with the mounting bracket for the unit (3950MB) and cannot seem to find the measurements for the length between the mounting holes top and bottom and the width of the box itself. I assume it is 5.25" but nobody has any specifications that I can find. Could you measure yours possibly? thanks! Its a great video!

The instructions I downloaded said that Sears Craftsman with a red/orange button was a type 4. Glad I watched your video and saw it was actually type 2… Also no mention in my instructions of hitting the last button twice during the test…🙄

When I'm changing the code, is the garage door suppose to be moving ? Because as I punch in the code it starts coming down !

Thank you! The instructions that came with my Chamberlain door opener does not even mention the final steps, The instructions stop with once the door reaches the desired closed position press and release the adjustment button. I hate it when instructions are not complete.

We just moved to a new place and while the hand held remote GDO works well, the keypad on the outside does not. I replaced the batteries, watched numerous KZfaq videos and seemed to get it programmed. However, a big problem. The door opens at the push of any one button but needs the code to close it! What’s happening here? How do I fix it? The GDO is a Wayne Dalton Prodrive and the keypad is a Clicker.

Thank you thank you. Found out if you have 2 garage door openers use the DIP switches on the opener it's self not the controller. It has 2 extra switches.
