Rubbish tracks with so few overtaking chances ensure that the best car and driver combination don't win, just cover in the few spots that they can overtake and you can block lap after lap. You could be 5 seconds a lap slower on this track and still beat the better car and driver.

That's how you apply a constant blowtorch to someone's ass in motorsports. Each time he looks into his review mirror or glances into the side view mirrors you are there, all on his bumper waiting patiently for him to make a mistake so you can overtake.

Look how far ahead Lowndes was. The onboard stops as soon as the "overtake" happens. That was Lowndes conceding a spot...there was no fight in that

Fast Frosty but its also down to confidence under braking. Could be the reaction of the car, under trailbraking, or the car not having the rear-end grip needed, and Skaife having much more confidence under braking, going in deeper and later. But yeah, could just be conceding.

My old man was a fire marshal @ Oran Park in the 70s. I spent the days in the pits, sitting in the race cars. Was a great childhood for Campbelltown boy. And was a proper race track, sad it's gone.

Very cool onboard shot inside the Garry Rogers Motorsport Holden of Cameron McConville. I saw this on French Television (Motors TV) and that was one of my best memories at Bathurst in 2005.
