What would a stunning woman like that see in a charmless slap head like Ken Masters?

Everything about this show was top quality - whatever idiots try to say otherwise need to make comparisons with the BBC output today!

Howard’s way is a very good bad soap opera. I’ve only just discovered it and I’m hooked.

Themes use to be very iconic. I loved this, Dear John, Reginald Perrin, Brushstrokes.... I could go on.

I don't think anybody has mentioned this yet, but this was a time when end credits were allowed to be the length they needed to be to make the music work and to see the names of the majority the TV crew members' names. Nowadays, some utter twat has decided that credits should be no longer than 40"-odd seconds (30" pref) so they can finish this programme and get straight into the next asap! If the people making these decisions actually watched (and enjoyed) watching television, they wouldn't come up with these brainless ideas!

Was the boat being seen leaving the harbour the actual boat that was supposedly nicked, or was there a gap where it should have been ?

If I was ready for bed, mum would turn this tune up on the tv so I could listen to it while I got tucked in. If I wasn’t ready, no Howard’s way son.

LOVE this theme tune! It totally epitomises the time and the place. Simon May could compose a great TV theme, and as well as this one he did Eldroado which is thematically similar.

Fun Fact: Jan Harvey [ Jan Howard ]and Steven Yardley [ Ken Masters ] are married in real life. Must of been easy to do the affair scenes when its your real life husband.

Whenever I see a powerboat bouncing across the waves 🚤 this always comes to mind. Very well filmed, even going to the expense of helicopter shots 🚁. That view off the Needles with the sunlight filling the spinnaker ⛵ is beautiful.
