The end credits to Series 2 of Howards' Way, the glamorous 80's BBC super-soap.
This ending was only used for one series, and features the full lyrics to the show's highly popular Simon May theme tune "Always There". Sung by Marti Webb.
The show ran for 6 series from 1985-1990, and was the BBC's answer to the likes of Dallas and Dynasty.
Lynne Howard has finally got her memory back, and has taken her boat "The Flying Fish" out for a spin!

Lovely music, wonderful series. I'm from Nottingham and had a break in Hampshire in 1990. Made a pilgrimage to the Jolly Sailer at Burlesden where some of it was filmed. I told the barmaid I was a fan of Howards Way and she said the cast were in the pub yesterday, the last day of filming in the final series. Damn. Loved to have had a pint with Jack Rolfe or a gin and tonic with Ken Masters 😄

Loved Sunday nights watching Howards'Way. Superb drama that was the BBC's answer to the gloss of US series Dallas and Dynasty. Fond memories indeed.

Actually the boat featured was 'Barracuda of Tarrant' especially commissioned for the show and later built in small numbers by Sadler Yachts as the Sadler Barracuda 45. The cast were taught the basics of sailing by yachtsman Bob Fisher. The lovely Tracey Childs (Lynne) now works as a producer at the Mercury Theatre in Colchester! Happy Sunday night memories from the 80s

Remembering the 80s with howerds way being on and my dad had it on I loved it too and I now have the box set and it still is amazing and loved . Thank you for making such wonderful tv

oh the memories of listening to this;;my step dad's stepdad & his wife loved the show and loved this song particularly and had a copy of the single I remember;;it brings back a lot of happy memories from the 80's; i got addicted to HW later from the 5th series onwards. you are always fond of something more when you grew up with it :)

I agree,this programme,allo allo,miami vice, moonlighting, start about the same time mid 80s but Howard way on a Sunday night , just relaxing viewing and that Marti Webb beautiful voice by Simon may,which I still have the record

omg, a time of innocence - went as boy with mother and her friend to christchurch...in a mini...on the way back the mini gave up the ghost at axminster...when we went on a boat there, the actor asked my mum out on s date....what a different life i could have led...great to see it back...and lucy in that mini, lol

This was when telly was worth paying the licence fee for, Howard's way, boon, Sweeney, professionals, only fools and horse's to name just a few.... Now it's just plain crap on the box

PC destroyed comedy and tv drama, now it’s “ tick the boxes” and lectures television. Oh and disclaimer notices on everything from the 1970’s or 80’s in case something “ offends” 1 or 2 people watching🙄 This goes for all tv channels, even ITV was great until it turned woke.

Would love to bring a modernised version this series back somehow but as stated so many of the lead actors are no longer with us.Jan Harvey ,Susan Gilmore and Stephen Yardley could return though

This song is a rip off of a Joe Meek production from the 1960s. Totum Pole by the Honeycombs. Almost note perfect how there wasnt a copyright lawsuit beggars belief. Perhaps its because Joe Meek was dead. To compare search Totum Pole The Honeycombs
