The combination of incredible acting, excellent timing of dusk and James Horner's MASTERFUL score. This is cinematic lightning in a bottle and as the son of a baseball player and grandson of a Negro League player, I lose it everyime.

Why do some of these reactors not get the ending? Why is this so difficult for them to understand? These people have just watched DOZENS of their friends, family, and neighbors get LITERALLY SLAUGHTERED by some unknown monster predators who have shown ZERO signs of stopping, and the humans have found ZERO WAYS to stop them. You are in a car, IN THE MIST, with 5 bullets. Do you WANT to be eaten to death and die in the most brutal and horrific manner? Or, would you rather some BRAVE MAN take it upon himself to shoulder the burden of "doing the job" on each of you that are left, so that YOU: A) Do not have to "do the job" on yourself AND B) Do not have to suffer the brutal reality that your end is in the mouth of some alien creatures, tortured to your very last breath. HOW DO SOME OF THESE PEOPLE BELIEVE THE FATHER IS THE VILLAIN?!? So you are saying that you would rather WATCH your sone being eaten to death? Screaming, crying, BEGGING for YOU, "Dad", to please help, make it stop?!? Or, would you rather be merciful and end it quickly and painlessly? And DO NOT give me that "if he was just a little bit more patient" bullsh*t. Thats so lame. Like he knew the Army was coming? GTFOH! FFS!

The horrific part of it that is kinda maybe not true, but i think they were following the mist right, so if they just waited at the supermarket or stopped at any point they would see military, they were literally running away from salvation and hope

This is actual one of the better psychic medium movies. I just need to clarify that ghosts and spirits are very different. Think of a ghost as like watching a home video. It's a recording in time, there is nothing to interact with. Spirits on the other hand, are very much alive and interact with the living, even when we are unaware. I love that the movie centers on perception of reality. If you are going to take anything from this movie, understand earth bound spirits are definitely in a world of their own making. Spirits that aren't earth bound typically pop into the physical plane now and then. They typically like to visit family and friends. They typically come to us in dreams because that is when our own spirit leaves our physical body. The witching hour is also the time of day when the veil is at it's thinnest, allowing spirits to move to the physical easily. This poor boy hasn't learned how to protect himself from spirits. I think the abundance of spirits he sees is definitely exaggerated, but could be possible. It's always sad to see a psychic who doesn't understand basic protection.

My favorite movie of all-time, and the first one I ever cried to. I got so much shit as a kid in the 1990's because "He's just a robot" and I am a man (very little shit talking for the latter though).

I honestly don't believe there is any Man who would be able to hold back. I don't believe any Man who was truly in love with his wife would be able to stop themselves from killing him in that moment. As much as it sucks, and yes, it technically means that John Doe "wins"... Nah. He dies. And I also believe that a lot of us Men wouldn't just use the gun. We would probably keep the gun in our hands just to make sure that Summerset couldn't interfere with the torturous death that we are about to inflict upon John Doe. He would have to suffer as no other Man has suffered on this earth. It would take exactly as long as it would take for those Feds in the Helicopters to come down and try to stop us. And in a moment like that, an enraged Man can come up with some brutally sick sh*t to inflict upon a monster like John Doe.

I feel for these people. I read the books ahead of the movies. Knowing what was coming didn't prepare me for the cinematography back then. We lost some of the best actors with Richard Harris, Michael Gambon, and Alan Rickman. One of my favorite Alan Rickman roles, alongside Marston in Quigley Down Under and....BY GRABTHAR'S HAMMER.....

I remember reading news that Harrison Ford (Han) was asking Mark Hamill (Luke), "Hey kid!" "Why didn't you tell me?!" But Mark signed non-disclosure agreement with LucasFilm not to speak of the plot twist until Empire Strikes Back premiere in 1980 or get sued by LucasFilm. James Earl Jones (voice of Darth) and David Prowse (Darth's body) also signed their NDA's too.

⚠️ LONG POST ⚠️ I was admittedly not a Harry Potter fan, as my mother purchased ‘The Sorcerers Stone’ shortly after it was published (I would’ve been 7 @ the time), and I stopped reading after a few chapters. That being said, I’ve always respected the world building & subsequent storytelling that was achieved, and the sheer level of production involved in turning the books into m a s s i v e box office successes. I’m very glad that the final movie was released shortly after meeting my gf, who was a very big HP fan that got me to attend the midnight showing of that final movie (we stood in line for hours, had a great time chatting & drinking to pass the time w/ other patrons). Again, I make all this clear because I was pleasantly surprised by how well they executed the impressive ‘twists’ in the story. Again (sorry lol) as someone who didn’t read the books, they did a fantastic job portraying this particularly huge plot point. I still remember audibly hearing dozens of young women sob in the theater, to the point even my superfan gf/her friend were like, “yikes, y’all can chill out huh?😅”. I also loved the casting for these films, as I can’t see any other actor pulling off Snape’s character in particular, and the same goes for Dumbledore, Hagrid (sp?), and a litany of other characters. I also, just now, realized everyone I’ve just mentioned are now unfortunately deceased. RIP to Rickman (Snape), Gambon (Dumbledore), & Coltrane (Hagrid) - and the 15 other actors/actresses that passed on prior to or soon after the final movie, whom I didn’t include solely because they weren’t in the final movie I was speaking of. Thanks for listening to my TED Talk ✌🏻

Dumbledore had instructed Snape to use his expertise in Occlumency (shielding his true intentions in his mind from Voldemort, who essentially had Legilimency/telepathy) to teach Harry to do the same during the events of Order of the Phoenix, Snape used Legilimens to see's Harry mind and its secrets, Harry used the Protego spell to see into Snape's mind....imagine if he saw this secret of Snape truly loving Lily Evans(Harry's mom) and caring/protecting Harry discreetly way back then...Not to mention Lupin, Sirius, and James(rascals/clowns) were Snape's biggest bullys in Hogwarts Patronus Charm appearance: James Potter...stag/male deer shape...James also had the ability to turn into a stag(Animagus like Sirius)...Stag Patronus just like Harry's Lily Evans/Potter...doe/female deer shape Severus Snape...doe/female deer shape...turned into doe because he really loved Lily Evans...Snape's Doe patronus guided Harry to the Sword of Gryffindor frozen deep in the lake Severus Snape....didn't get his girl, watched his girl marry his bully, watched his girl die in vain, forced to protect her son who was spitting image of his bully.... definition of complete fortitude and steadfastness irrespective of unforeseen circumstances brought forth by time.

So many not understanding how when one truly lives someone, their patronus becomes the other’s person’s same shaped patronus. So when Dumbledore saw Snape’s patronus being the same as lily’s, he asked, “lily? After all this time?” Because snape did all of this not for Harry, but for Lily. It’ll ALWAYS be for Lily.
