I am running my current SM7B with a Scarlett interface + cloud lifter. Is it worth the switch to get the clean -60db gain? Is the quality overall better?
@Dealcasters23 күн бұрын
Your quality is already great with the Scarlett and Cloudlifter and the SM7B. Dan, I don't work for Elgato, that is a good question. I went with the bigger screen since it gave me more flexibility with what I am trying to do with a green screen.
@dankellyАй бұрын
@@Dealcasters thanks. I actually watched a few videos and, even though none of them said so, I'm pretty sure it's more expensive because of the mechanism that holds up the screen itself. The smaller one has hydraulics and multiple bars that hold it in place and don't require the step of pulling out a single pole and extending it. The smaller one you just open the top and pull it up and it stays in place.

Nice comparisons! I was considering the Sm7dB for recording vocals at home. Would you consider the nexadyne 8/s for a first time home studio to record vocals in an untreated room? It would double as a live performance mic.
@DealcastersАй бұрын
The SM7DB is a better podcast mic for sure, especially in rooms that aren't well treated. It also does great for vocals (singing, etc) - but is different sounding (warmer/boomier). It has a built-in preamp so the noise floor is low when you increase the gain and you get far less of the room noise which is super important for podcasts and making thinner voices sound more full. But if you want to use a mic that can be used in both home studio and performance situations - the Nexadyne is a great option as not only looks great as a performance vocal mic in addition to killing all the mic bleed you may get onstage. You can hear in the video that the Nexadyne has more clarity, so you may want to treat your home studio somewhat to avoid any unwanted reverb from the room. Does this help you?
@agenxphyteАй бұрын
Super helpful, definitely want to get the SM7dB at some point because of its versatility. The Nexadyne 8/s is checking off a lot of boxes at the moment due to needing a microphone that will cut through the stage bleed and add mid/highs to a voice is that is already warm. I’m also thinking it’s off axis reduction of noise will be helpful ro record vocals in a room that has not been professionally treated. It would be nice to buy a condenser microphone but it’s been suggested to me they only be used in professionally treated rooms. Gonna bite the bullet and give it a try🙏

I just bought it yesterday and i was testing it havent yet finished thé testings but for my use which IS for voice over work in a noisy environnement these are my remarks I bought it for the denoiser fonction and i was desappointed that they changed the motiv app to mix and that there IS no written more detailed manual explanations on how to use it As it IS missing the manual features that were in the motivplus the possibility to adjust the eq to be far or Close . In the other app you could go UP to 35db gain and in this only 15db There IS only the usbc to USB c cable (connection to phone) and it works with computers too but if my computer needs charging i need to unplug the mic as my computer charges with USB c. The colours in the mic that you way waw one million colours choose are useless to me as unless one IS a gamer and these colours are visible to others but not to the person in front of the mic Apparently its advisable to have only the shure app open and not other audio apps as it Can make the autolevel audio dysfunctional but the recording button of the app doesnt offer spectro fréquency nor allows punch and Roll option (pause Come Back to where you mispronounced a word and change it) and its features of denoiser isnt very efficient with many noises That in my case i need to record or on Adobe audition for punch and Roll or on zoom as it has the krisp denoiser technology So still lacks improvements

Thanks for your feedback! You may want to get a hub that would allow for you to charge your computer and use the MV7+. In Motiv Mix with this mic, it will automatically detect whether you are close or far and adjust the gain accordingly. Also, once you set your mic up with Motiv Mix the way you want it, you can close it out - the settings will stay within the mic itself. Hopefully that will help you if you have multiple apps open. Thanks again for watching!
