I wonder if you superscored your sats. If you took the best score from reading/writing which was your second time and combine it with your best score from math in your first sat, your total would be 1590 instead of 1580. Who knows if those extra 10 points would have gotten you into an ivey. Either way, don't worry about it, UMD is a fine school and I'm sure you'll do fine. Congrats

OK. I almost cried when you said you got accepted. I have to remind you I am an American Citizen, but when I heard your scores I knew for 100% you studied. I also had a 3.89/4.0 GPA and a 2080/2400 SAT (87% percentile) and a MATH and foreign language extra SAT score with both on the 780-790 or 800 out of the 800 scale. I just realized you actually scored higher than me. I have no idea how you studied, I got an interview from Princeton and then got accepted to BU. My hometown is from Bloomington indiana so I will probably go to BU it's been my life long dream. I never got into Harvard and Princeton was the only ivy league school that interviewed me because of my royal family, but I still got rejected in the end. I might go live in Boston, but thank you for sharing your story, I also got rejected from a lot of schools despite my grades.
