As a lefty (and no my mother was not a witch) I don’t know why all gun companies don’t go ahead and do this it’s such a simple cheap thing to do and for me a must have as a South Paw!🤯🔫👍🏼

Nice review. Took a while to chop through that one branch tho. Maybe your edge was a little dull? I have a Ontario sp10 that would have gone through that in 4-5 strokes

I'm kind of at the mercy of what the importers choose to bring in. Accessories for lefties are few and far between so I jumped on the first one I found.

Agreed, would be a hundred dollars by the time it was delivered, but I do like the idea and you did a excellent job of explaining it. Sig Sauer has one very similar for under $30 .

I think it is a nice period military type knife. Carbon steel very easy to sharpen, the fit and finish is what I would expect for military. The sheath is not high grade, but what I would expect from a military knife. Now the Natchez from what and other so called presentation knives, what is a 19th century knife doing with a plastic sheath? what happened to the nice ones that used to come with the knife?

FN NEVER made a Hi Power MK I. This is a fallacy perpetuated by the Wikipedia listing and it is totally untrue. There WAS a Hi Power MK I, but it was produced by the John Inglis Company of Canada during WWII. What you have is a type 71/73 Hi Power, as evidenced by the spur hammer and the slightly extended "hog nose" barrel bushing. As you correctly surmised, your Hi Power was likely produce for the a police or military contract. Please don't parrot false BS from Wikipedia. It immediately brands you as a poser.

The guard on my Trail Master is less ornate and less in the way. Don't recall a choil either. As one knife designer said, "You only need to use a choil if some idiot sticks a choil on the knife."

Screw Cold Steel...plenty of great American knife companies. They lost all of my respect & business when they framed everything out to China & started putting out absolutely ridiculous junk.

The photos show a deep rich coating. Yours looks like it's worn through the coating. In the photos, it looks like a really nice bluing like you'd find on a Colt Python .357 revolver. Is that how your knife looked?
@peregrinatus
@peregrinatus 6 жыл бұрын
I think they did a lot of work with the lighting to get that look in the photos. In real life its a semi gloss plain black metal coating, but I couldn't tell you what it is. Some kind of powder coat is my best guess
