In summary, happy with it, but there will be some things I'd really like to modify. Good buy, Buy the knife at www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00H... Thanks to KZfaqr Mekugi for camera and editing help.

That looks reasonably reasonable.

It's meant to be drawn from the left side of the body if you're right handed, should hang on your left hip, not on your right. You draw it crossdraw.

This knife makes me think of Sam Elliot fending off a grizzly bear. Love it. Great video too. Thanks for putting it to work.

Excellent review man! I'd agree the only down fall is the square grip, but as u mentioned rounding it off. Please show us when you do that mod. Thanks

I have one of these and I love it. I do agree that the edge should probably be reprofiled. There's just a lot of steel behind the edge and I'd want to back it up a few degrees. I may make a new grips for it just because I work with wood a lot and I can think of a few improvements I'd like to see. Otherwise, it's a awesome blade and easily one of my favorite bowies

The guard on my Trail Master is less ornate and less in the way. Don't recall a choil either. As one knife designer said, "You only need to use a choil if some idiot sticks a choil on the knife."

I think it is a nice period military type knife. Carbon steel very easy to sharpen, the fit and finish is what I would expect for military. The sheath is not high grade, but what I would expect from a military knife. Now the Natchez from what and other so called presentation knives, what is a 19th century knife doing with a plastic sheath? what happened to the nice ones that used to come with the knife?

Beautiful blade! I see they can be had for $80 on amazon. I'd get one just because it looks menacing and sort of like a wartime theater knife. Kind of a lousy chopper tho. Great informative video, thanks for taking the time to share this!

Could you do a video on the knife now and what you have changed about it? would be interesting to see the improvements

I am most impressed with the price of this one. I am so tempted to get one, but I know that I would not be able to fight the temptation to put it in with my load out gear and use it for some hard out door use... and I much rather put forward the money to getting a better purpose built knife for that particular use.
@Northpolenoir
I got one of these like a month ago and the steel bit on the steath is still on the wrong side not sure what the point was to do that

I understand that it shares the hilt shape with Cold Steel's 1917 Saber, which could explain why it lends itself to the saber grip so readily. And yes, it sounds like a good all round knife. Not spectacular in any one area, but very flexible, just like the original Boowee (American pronunciation of Bowie). I'll probably get one next month.
