I think the rooms are small, but that's only because I haven't played the game yet. I will actually reserve judgement until after I play.

Was interested in it, but locking new areas behind a premium pass is a no for me. The trading, unique name, dyes doesnt bother me, just the fact that actual areas behind it sucks

Seems like PoE instanced towns. Which is fine. I don't have a problem with it. It just depends if the game feels empty as a result. Wont know until we try. I like the aesthetic of the game. It looks like a tabletop and I know Gower was inspired by those.

Like other's have said. If rooms can be bigger, it shouldn't be too much of a problem. It won't feel very immersive if there's 6 other players in a room, or a trading quarter that's 1/10th the size of the Grand Exchange.

I think making classes could be a big mistake. I personally really dislike classes in MMORPGs, and I believe a lot of Runescape players share this sentiment, I've spoken to many who do. If the game intends to only have three classes, I imagine it might be some attempt to prevent people from switching styles mid combat like in Runescape, but there are so many better ways to go about this. To begin with it makes no sense that you can switch gear that quickly during combat, so you could just prevent it in this new game. Either way, I wish it didn't have classes. Edit: Nice video btw.

Thanks! I do agree there is a time and place for classes with restrictions on what you can do, and a time and place for players to be able to do everything. I think Brigher Shores is going to be more a single player game with some opportutnies for co-op. But we have to wait and see what the grand plan is.

vid is all old stuff graphically. But its still not near UE5 at all. But I hope CU will get good TriRealm Combat and Physically CUBE buildings to tear down in its final form. can't wait to see what they're cooking. Oh and Crowfall was come and go from KS. no problem it got forgotten. ^^

From what I've seen of CU, I don't think their custom engine will be able to replicate what UE5 can do. Maybe it can, but I'm not seeing it.

@@ParadoxGamingNetwork I would also guess max UE4. But I'm also more of the gameplay over Graphic side. If the Graphics is fitting and nice. Gameplay is what matters. Looking on game charts and see most of the now top 10 played games are over 5-10 years old. Not to say CU will Nail the Game Play. But for me this will be the thing if it Fly or Crash in the end. not Shining Graphics.

Feels like it's there ( and the tiles ) to serve as the 'unique' aspect to the game, with the fear of those things not being there causing enough people to just call it a RuneScape clone. I'm yet to think of any positive elements this brings to the actual gameplay though.

While I think that's fair to say from what we've seen, I don't think they've really done a good showcase of gameplay video yet. These videos were more showcase how the world works.

I think it is strange if you are on a beach that consists of multiple rooms, and you stand one tile away from the transition line and you cannot see anything that is going on over there even though it is right there in terms of worldspace. Having to cross over that barrier is jarring, and my worry is that because rooms are so small and transition points are very frequent, it will not feel like a pieced together world and it will instead feel like you are walking between instanced rooms that are not actually a part of the world that is shared between the players. Perhaps it would be better to be able to see adjacent areas not blacked out and have it show you what is going on inside them at a lower update rate or something like that, where it makes sense to have line of sight.

I can absolutely agree with what you are saying in this regard. When the game launches this should be a piece of feedback given and hopefully the team can either make it happen or explain why it can't happen.

I would enjoy this game if it were mobile. Not sure if I will enjoy on pc but will give it a try for sure. Kinda sad he went this direction, but can’t complain.

My favourites in Archeage was delivery and craft packed materials but was to much bully from other factions that had spy on my faction. They had some fake accounts ....placed them to watch crafters that leaving place and attacking them then. So game was not fair mechanics involved in. People tgat coukd afford for more pc's had camp you all day, night well system was broken and not acceptable. So I'm happy we got no faction mire pve base game because we coukd see how before system end and how destructive that was. Black Desert Online it's pve base similar mmo and it's great for 10 years. Some people got exited when talk about trade with packs because they could get attacked by enemy but ...most of them have no idea that 90 % of all trades was controlled by some people and friends of them this game was broken and never player friendly. From one side players and from other greedy developer's.

I think I finally figured it out. Mark wants to create an ENGINE, not a game. He doesn't want to make just one game he wants to make hundreds. No way he was going to get funding for that pipe dream so he scammed people with Camelot Unchained. The idea is to drag people long enough to get the engine developed then showcase games like Camelot Unchained and that Ragnarok game to showcase the engines ability to start licensing it out. THAT'S how he is getting more funding these days. I don't want to play CU anymore. In fact I have blacklisted it and actively promote others to do the same. They are rebranding their company just in time for the next year release thinking they are going to get away with this. The internet won't let them. People that want refunds should have charge backed their accounts a long time ago. They are going to drag this out and get the release done as quickly as possible and then refuse refunds because they finally delivered. I would promote that you guys get together and file a class action and petition the Better Business Bureau. It needs to happen to punish this criminal behavior but you know it won't. People these days just roll over and get scammed and don't do anything about it but cry on forums they can get banned from.

Sadly, getting the Better Business Bureau involved is totally pointless. They are a reporting agency not an enforcement agency. They literally have no power which they will freely admit. Sadly, getting a class action lawsuit together will be equally futile. You can only sue a company for what they have, so if they raised 20 million and they have 1 million left, well the pot is only 5% of what you started with. Then, if you win, that 1 mllion will quickly become 600,000 since the class action lawyer is going to take 40% off the top. Sadly, the only way this ends is if all gamers stop backing all early access projects. Buy a game at launch and that is it.

Hi Jahlon, I checked out your channel once a while, and I am surprised that you are not making muc Ashes of Creation videos anymore. I have always considered you to be one of the more reasonable community member of AoC, so I rely on you for AoC info. Since my interest in AoC was never that great, I did not follow your channel closely. I have finished your video on Pax Dei's PLEX system, and noticed you said you were ostracized previously, is this referring to the AoC community? Cuz if that's the case, all that was left is an echo chamber.

I will be back to making Ashes of Creation content when they have a confirmed Alpha 2 date. After spending 6 years covering the day on basically a daily basis, it was time to give it a rest until they have a clear path forward. Once they have a date, I will go back and cover all the old material that I have missed.

'Room to Room' is initially off-putting. It seems like something a mobile game would have. But then I compare it to Runescape and see that Runescape has it's own grid system that is much less intentionally pronounced. I think there is a charm to each room having a spirit of it's own - but it does come off as very mobile game-like, and causes some degree of hesitation and doubt for me. Truth be told, if it weren't for the creator's past works and reputation, I would more than likely have passed on playing Brighter Shores simply because the idea of 'Room to Room' isn't a dish that I would personally order off the menu. But a great chef can make a great dish, so I have high hopes.

if it was open world with this design, it would do extremely well because I think that has a larger audience. This is Andrew's passion project though so it really doesn't matter to him. He is making a game for himself first and foremost. I am looking forward to more updates. Perhaps it will win me over and I'll love it. I probably don't have time to play it anyway haha.

I love when people say p2w, pay to win what, just play and explore the game, you die, do it again and again and again, you know a zone is pvp, don’t go there less the game story sent you there, nobody complained about dying a million time in soul game, when you loose more when dying in em. All the bs about p2w is actually killing mmo. They’ll say soul game are for you to die cause it’s supposed to be hard, like mmo ain’t, you playing with real people. That alone should make harder for you to stay alive.

I problem with dismissing P2W is that for many people it is a major issue and it does drive players away. When you buy a Souls game, you know its going to be a challenge but it is a static challenge and you can get better and overcome it. In a game with Pay to Win, you can never overcome it if the opposition is constantly staying ahead in gear obtained through swiping.

@@ParadoxGamingNetwork that’s only when you focus on pvp, if for example there was a boss in a game behind a certain door, and to open that door, you need a a key, that can only be obtained through monetization, or the is immune to every thing except a static effect which you can only buy, if the world itself doesn’t require you spend money to maneuver in it, play story, and do quests, if p2w is only a issue for players who challenges other players, optimize level of pvp is not required, it’s just a added bonus, but you are right, people go to a mmo and only stay in it for good pvp,

Sure, but in a game with non consensual PVP where you can't just enjoy the story, that's what people have a complaint with. New World with opt-in PVP is a good move, since you can play New World and never have to engage in PVP if you don't want to. Archeage, on the other hand, was terrible because after level 30 you had to go into PVP zones.

@@ParadoxGamingNetwork true, it’s was the same with bless unleashed, where some territory are strictly pvp and the story continues in those territories, me i never mind dying in those territories, even if the other players are unfairly overpowered compared to me, for me, the forces unfair pvp never spoil my fun in a mmo, and somehow some way i always managed to go do the quests and get out of such territory.
