Dislike, THAT PLASTIC SHOULD NOT BE REMOVED as it is fixed by plastic underneath, both of them should be removed simultaneously , as they have lateral clips

Hi, I ordered mine off Aliexpress. They might be available on Ebay or Amazon as well. Hope that helps.

I found it easier to remove the entire circuit board with the batteries as it is easier to work with outside of the shaver casing. There are two screws holding the circuit board down. You can then pry upwards on the plastic wire harness where the charger plugs in allowing for the circuit board and batteries to slide out of the shaver casing which provides easier access to de-solder and re-solder in the new batteries without soldering in such a confined space.

Great video. Whoever designs laptops to require them to be almost completely disassembled, just to access the CPU, should be tarred and feathered. Makes it almost not worthy undertaking these steps to renew thermal paste...almost. Thanks for sharing

At 7:46, you're disconnecting a cable from a recepticle on the motherboard. What is that cable for? On my dv6458se, the same cable is present but it does not connect to anything. I don't have the connector on the motherboard that is shown in the video. I'm just curious what this controlled.
@jnnz883 жыл бұрын
Not sure sorry. Might be WiFi antenna or Webcam.
@fosgate3753 жыл бұрын
@@jnnz88 I found out later that it's for the webcam. This is odd though because my laptop has a webcam but there's no cable anywhere going to this receptacle.

This is the best video ever on disassembly and assembly. great piece of demonstration. Hats off..!!! Hope you could use set of tweezers on removing tiny clips in next video :). Also I wonder why you didn't apply thermal paste over GPU. Was it with a reason ? Also I would like to know whether this particular mode ( DV6000) got a problem of premature failure of on board GPU due to overheating ? If so any way to fix it ? What is your recommendations. Appreciate your valuable comment on this. Thanks
@jnnz883 жыл бұрын
Hi. It was quite a while ago but I believe the GPU uses thermal tape to transfer heat rather than thermal paste, so I was worried replacing it with paste would require a thick spread which could have the potential to run everywhere when heated. This laptop did not experience the GPU problem as I used a good laptop cooler from day 1, but I had a friend who had a slightly higher spec model and they did experience this issue. I believe some people have fixed it by disassembling the laptop and placing the motherboard in an oven to reflow the solder joins or used a heat gun/hair dryer over the GPU area to try and achieve the same result.

Could you explain more about how to fix this power source? What did you connect it to? Having the same issue on my Nissan Xtrail
@Greenshirt024 жыл бұрын
What are you using to show the working power vs not working
@jnnz884 жыл бұрын
@@Greenshirt02 Hi. This is obviously a different car to yours, but I’ll try to explain a bit more about it. There should be an accessory feed which powers the antenna when you turn the ignition to acc/ign. The white connector at the start of the video is part of the antenna circuit. When you disconnect it, the male side with the white/black stripe wire should have power on it when the key is in the acc/ign position. Mine didn’t have anything on it. You could trace this white/black wire and see where it goes. Maybe there is a broken wire somewhere or something has been wired up wrong in the past. I couldn’t be bothered tracing it. I just checked the fuses, nothing was blow, so I just cut the white/black wire and joined it to the antenna power wire from the headunit. Working power is when I disconnected the connector and applied power supplied from the headunits “antenna control” wire to the female connector of the antenna circuit, which leads to the antenna. Not working is when it was all connected at the start of the video but there was no power coming from the white/black wire. It is essentially the same as that connector being unplugged, i.e the antenna is not getting powered up so it can’t receive a good signal.

Great video! I'd like to suggest making a note on what size the screws are, even if it's just a simple Big, Medium, teeny. I hate getting down to the last one and finding out it's the wrong length >.<
