I have my jersey and his book ,the best is what Madden said about him “snake gets bored so the best thing is to be behind in the 4 quarter cause he thrived on pressure “

I saw him at Disneyland. He was coming out of one of the offices. One of the park-goers saw him and shouted, "Raiders!" Todd, seemingly reluctantly, gave a nonchalant nod of the head.

The Raiders list of D-Backs is arguably the best in the sport. Atkinson, Hayes, Lott, and Haynes…just the best!

I'm from Mexico and a very old Football fan, he was known as the Lone Wolf here and honestly is one of my favorite players of all time, even though that i'm a huge Chargers fan and my favorite player of all times is Kelen Winslow. Todd and those Raiders are one of the coolest teams of all time, at least for me.

i was steelers all the way back then and mel blount and jt thomas were my guys; along w glen edwards and mike wagner they were the best d-backs ever but i had a lot of respect for tatum and george atkinson and skip thomas best era ever for real nfl footbal

The Oakland Raiders were one of the greatest teams ever. They were the bad boys of the NFL. Football was exciting to watch back then with teams like the Steelers, Miami, Green Bay, Dallas. Now it’s like watching a bunch of overpaid primadonnas

Ya Got to Love Kenny "Snake" Stabler. One of Bears Boys. Terrorizing the "Redneck Riveria" aka Alabama Gulf Coast.

I always wondered why Kenny wasn't inducted sooner.(HOF) Statistically he was much better than Namath,Dawson & many others. My Dad insisted it was because he had been caught gambling.(Not on Raiders)! Part of the plea deal he agreed to was no induction to the hall while he was alive.I never found out if this was true but it seemed believable. Many yrs. later I met Kenny at a card show in upstate N.Y.& he was very friendly with great stories.I wish todays players had the charisma the will to win that the " Snake" had. R.I.P Mr.Stabler! A true classic!

He's not forgotten by me. (I'll never forget the 38 to 9 bashing by the Raiders game to my favored Redskins in Super Bowl 18.) RIP to a great who kind of helped reinvent football I guess, being a tight end where that became a more prominent position in the 1980s. (Though Joe Gibb's Redskins were revolutionary too with the 1-back/2-tight end offense). Since you're not in my favorite team's football conference, I'm pulling for you guys to get it going old Raiders style in Las Vegas. I relocated to Phoenix a few decades ago, so good luck to you guys in the fellow desert metropolis... ALRIGHT, Paradise, NV to name its suburb there. Anyway..a fond farewell to a football warrior legend like Todd!

Love them. .or hate them... The Raiders of that era, were the most dominant team...in the fun department! Always nutty and fun things going on with them. And...they were BadAss players. Madden gave them the freedom to be individuals, but brought them all together, as brothers in arms. Respect....by all of these pirates.... for Madden...is why it all worked.

YES, Jack Tatum should be in the hall of fame. He has earned it. That hit as sad as it was at the time was a legal and clean hit. I wonder if Mr. Stingley hadn't hit Tatum's shoulder when they hit if thing might have been different. I am just wondering because of the hit as shown in the video and the nature of the injury. In either case I hope that both men rest in piece.

I think Howie Long retired at the perfect time. After the 93 season the Raiders were a dysfunctional mess until John Gruden arrived in 98. I remember Howie Long saying in an interview shortly after he retired that "he didn't want to walk funny". I think that was in relation to how many surgeries he probably went through.

Accidents happen it's a risk everyone takes it could happen in any sport at any time. Or in everyday life. Any contact sport is a risk you play at your own risk, and you know that when you sign up.
