Peace comes with a cost....like freedom...it is a constant struggle to find those two most important pieces of the puzzle to life! Chris realized young that the risk to accomplish peace and freedom are risky and not without cost...cost of feeeling alone, cost of hunger, cost of relationships and yes, sometimes the cost of life, and he was, aware of this. But what he did not lose, which did not have a cost, is his love for the people he cherished. There is where the "man" in Chris lives.

Forgot gloves and rain gear, yeah I can see why they moved the bus. It was becoming a game.

Carine is a very brave woman. She broke the circle of family abuse and became a mother for an adopter daughter and another one with Down Syndrome. On top of that, she express a lot of love for Chris, while saying he was selfish for leaving his family in the cold for his whereabouts for 2 years, but also for being an avid outdoorsman, adventurer, a bit of a poet and philosopher. I saw Chris last pic in where he knew he was going to die, but was able to say goodbye and accepting his fate in peace.

I was born in different culture but I really found Chris life story and what he had done is amazing and inspiring for humanity in this planet. Chris still shines as a star guiding for enlightenment for those who seek. Into the wild movie left something deep inside my soul and made me watching it many times…! Your book and story have had a deep impact on my heart and soul. Your words and journey, as well as Chris's, resonated with me ever since I saw the movie many, many years ago. When I saw the movie I knew "there was more to the story". Reading your book helped me to connect the dots and put the puzzle together for my own life and journey. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for sharing your experience. It has brought me tears, as well as much peace and healing. Sending love to you, your girls and spirit of Chris 💖

Love how the sister that he wanted away from also is all about his story now for the money. He wanted away from her too now she thinks she the story teller of him. Disgusting. She was part of the problem why he went to start with. .. he left his notes and she was not one he would have wanted telling his story. He did not care for her. The movie is always not accurate.

The fact that certain people think he is an inspiration are completely distorted. How in the world was he an inspiration? He was a stupid unprepared kid thank you he could go into Alaska and live off the land without any experience or equipment. That makes him stupid and he died a horrible death. How is that inspirational?

I own this stove in titanium and it was a dud. There is not enough clearance from the bottom grate to provide airflow if it is on soft soil or sand. I improved it greatly by drilling several holes through all the panels. I would say it is acceptable now,

Lets talk about the cabins less than 5 miles away or about how he vandalized them by getting on the fkin roof tops with a fkin pickaxe and broke out all the windows!! Real woodsman behavior. The fact that your group hiked out there to see a bus some thief>vandal> hobo idiot died in just shows what dumlower48 sheeple you are. Alaskans that live in the area know the real story not the 100%bush!t one in the movies. OHHH LETS MAKE A HERO OUT OF SOME VANDAL. And now more of you derps keep dyeing trying to get to the bus and more had to be saved so now they had to fly the fkin bus out with a chopper risking the chopper crews lives. Do you see how dumb this sh!t is? No you can't see because ur a lower48er now ur out there in the same spot like fkin sheep. You city-idiots are so far out in furry fairytale land. You can always hear sheep coming they wear bear bells. And lower48 sheep think bear spray works too. Its just sad that you lower48 city-idiots have such weak minds you have to fukup Alaska too with ur water bottles and trash and ur hobo vandals. Tim Treadwell and MCshitis both weak minded derppy kids that should have stayed in the lower48 with the rest of the derp sheep. So stop making money off this bs,

Well, 1) I was born and raised in AK and lived there for more than thirty years. 2) The guy that had a cabin out there and originally thought the cabin break-ins might have been Chris later changed his mind about that. It has been suggested that those break-ins likely occured when the Sushana was still frozen solid. Anyway, have a great day Bud! :D

The fact that this bus is famous for having some hobo city-idiot die in it and more cityidiots died going to the bus boggles my mind. The whole story is about some special touched individual dyeing of stupidity and more follow because of a book and a movie just shows me what sheep live in the lower48. Make a hero out of a pile of trash. I think about the real Alaskans that may have been saved by this bus but its gone now and some US airmen had to risk their lives airlifting this bus out. And now its in a museum so sheep can see it? The whole story is about how not to be a re#$ard in Alaska and more re%rds follow @@erikhalfacre

This video and Carine were very moving. I read Into the Wild when it first came out. In my opinion, while it was well written, Carine's book is much better. If you want to know the inside story of Chris and his family, read her book. I wish I'd had the opportunity to meet and get to know Chris. His background was not all that different from mine. Had I known him at the time he was traveling across the country, I may well have gone to Alaska with him. Fly among the stars, Chris, and thank you, Carine, for this video and your book. Kathy Gregg
