Row 2 looks more private, you don't have someone adjacent, across the aisle as in the last row. I would be very annoyed to sit so close to a stranger in First Class with just the aisle to separate us. Excellent trip report, food looks First Class

Did an LAX to FRA trip - upstairs - wife and I were the only passengers - we got crazy service - she slept a lot I enjoyed every tidbit and drink I could - thank you United/Lufthansa and staff

One correction: Shanghai is Air China’s third largest hub. The second largest hub right now is Chengdu (2 airports) with total of 86 planes. Beijing has 178, and Shanghai Pudong only has 35.

It's interesting to see how closely Chinese from the PRC and ROC sides can co-operate when there's business involved, even though they don't formally recognise each other.

It’s a political can of worms but neither country recognizes each other due to the Chinese Civil War. Taiwanese airlines that serve China also strip their aircraft of Taiwan flags. It’s to avoid any more tensions between the two countries

As a Chinese I always love to see some trip report onboard Chinese carriers on KZfaq, it is interesting to see how non-Chinese people feel about those airlines. I personally think they are one of the worst in Asia, but still better then North America carriers😅

I say LUFTHANSA has elegant accommodation. Luxoury. Passenger comfort is supreme. SUPERB DINING. I travelled SWISSAIR and it was wonderful. By comparison American air travel is brutal and barbaric and agonising and invasive. CATTLE CARS. HUMILIATING. A JOURNEY INTO HELL. A NIGHTMARE!!!
