I was watching this video with captions enabled. Starting at 0:32, music begins. The captions say "[Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music]". Now, I am afraid I don't find this to be accurate. I don't believe there is any applause in this sequence at all! This is simply music with claps in the instrumental. Notice how the claps follow the rhythm of the music- they are a PART of the music! Seeing as how these claps are a part of the music, I don't believe that their purpose in this audio was to convey feelings of approval or praise- as is the definition of "applause". Furthermore, what is the purpose of the repetition of "[Music]" and "[Applause]"? I may be only 30 seconds into your review, but I'll unfortunately have to give your review a 4/10 for these reasons alone. I expect better from future reviews. Sincerely, Dante Patel

After trying the smaller buttons of the R16 the T16 just feels clunky and less smooth when pressed. The bigger caps just make it feel much heavier.

Yeah I'm very glad that they went and iterated on things. The R16 could have just been a T16 with rims and a change in layout. It's cool that they made changes to the buttons and updated the stock switches.

After you beat the very last boss, grab the quick travel point behind you. BEFORE you choose an ending, log out and back up your save. Turn off auto update on the backed up save. Boot up the game again and you should spawn back in that room where you beat the boss and can choose your ending. At this point, quick travel to the Three Fingers, walk through the door, quick travel back to the boss room, get your Lord of Chaos ending. After you regain control, log out of the game. Download the save that you backed up. You will now spawn in the boss room in a state BEFORE you walked through the doors. Now you can choose a different ending. Rinse and repeat for the last ending, or however many other endings you unlocked :)

After you go deep into the sewers of Leyndell and take a lift down to the bottom (forgive me my memory is hazy), there is a boss called Mohg. When he’s dead, hit the wall behind his alter to find a hidden passage. Make your way to the bottom without dying (good luck!) and you will find a bonfire, more hidden doors, and an NPC. There’s a door down the hallway that you should only walk through when you’re ready to get the Lord of Chaos ending. If you go through it earlier you can still undo the state by getting Miquella’s needle and killing Placidusax. But again, it has to be done in the right order. To avoid any issues, backup your save after the very last boss before choosing any endings, as outlined in the video.

I think at £199 it would make sense. The RRP on release seems like they were taking advantage of low competition. That’s changing very quickly now though.

@@VidVayder I think that's still too much, it would be double the price of an item which is built like a tank, solid alluminium casing, excellent buttons and a superior internal board module... For the branding and the buttons, £150 max is fair for their item. That is a fair price which still offers them LOTS of profit margin. £200-300 is just scam.

The "you will suck a couple of months in this" was the most important to me, cause I was feeling bad about my skills! I am an old man, I don´t know if I have the time to move from stick. Nevertheless, I think it is a good cognitive training, and may insist as an exercise.

Have fun modding! It’s really cool having a controller look exactly as you prefer it. I sometimes stop just to take a look at my R16 lol. Kitsune was my first as well, but I haven’t really touched it recently. It does have its undeniable perks but the Cosmox controllers feel more ‘fun’.

For this model, just the jump button. The action and direction buttons are about the same as my Sanwa arcade buttons, just without the button rims.

Just a question from an old man here I did ranni ending and finished everything after her ending Like killed all the bosses collected all the items like yk everything can/should I do this ?

Hi fellow old man. If you’ve already chosen the Ranni ending and saw the cutscene etc you can no longer get any of the other endings in this play through. By all means you can keep killing all bosses and getting weapons and items. When you start NG+ the bosses will come back to life and quests will be reset.

I disagree I think the optical switches on the Kitsune are better as being an owner of both Haute42 R16 and M16. Will be testing out the wind engines soon

I have the buttons cap shown and they are not really suitable the buttons will be higher and you will notice a gap

Yeah, they do sit higher than the rims. This is also the case with arcade style buttons which they are trying to mimic. Granted, the buttons do poke out higher than my Panthera buttons. I think that is because the slim body doesn't allow the buttons to go deeper. I suppose they can make buttons that are shorter though.

Was about to buy a haute42 or wait for keen brawler. This price is hard to pass up! Was wondering though, how did you use the wind engine v2 switches if this controller only uses choc v1's? Thanks!

It can use both v1 and 2. It’s just that the button caps are designed for v1 so you’d have to get v2 style button caps if you change the switches. You can see in the soundtest that I use different button caps for the Crystal and Wind Engine switches. There’s a link to v2 buttons in the pinned comment. Haven’t heard of keeb brawler before, I will look it up. Thanks :)

I recently got a R16 as well modded with Kailh Phanton switch. May I ask what is the size and diameter of the mini push buttons on the top right? I would like to color code them like yours.

Diameter of the function buttons are 6mm, the holes are 4mm. You should have received one red and one black one in your packaging with the R16 (I did anyway). How are the phantom switches btw? Are they linear? How do they sound?

Thanks for the info! I might over looked what comes with the controller lol The switches I got are tactile. Sounds and feel much more solid than the stock ones. Only downside is the RGB lighting is not as bright as the original clear switches.

I'm super excited to get one of these. Thumbsticks have always annoyed me to death and the d-pad irritates my thumb despite how soft it is. Idk why either I couldn't tell you xD

Haha it makes sense. Many players moved to arcade sticks because of irritation, and then to stickless because of new irritations! All of the control types do have their pros and cons, I guess it's about finding the one that suits you best :)

if the kitsune had the extra buttons, it would be the best controller. Kitsune has the best buttons and feels so nice. The m16 feels really good though.

The Kitsune is nice in its own way for sure. Definitely not a bad controller, but I find it hard to go back to now after using the Haute42 controllers. It’s mostly down to the switches and the activation force I prefer. I should probably try some different switches on my Kitsune.

Is this suitable for WASD play for platform fighters? I've been curious about this layout since it mimics it and buttons can be remapped for different profiles, but the buttons look large and not sure how comfortable it would be with that great of a distance for the middle finger.

I don’t play platform fighters so can’t report on that, but it is already setup as WASD by default (jump button above the direction buttons on the left). If the buttons look too bit for you (I personally don’t think the spacing is that big, certainly not as spaced out as Kitsune) look at my review for the Tikitaka controller. The spacing feels smaller on that. They do a deluxe model and aluminium model too.

I'm here post-DLC: thank you so much!! The only thing I have to add is that the USB does not necessarily work with PS5. You need something with a capacity between 250GB and 8TB that is compatible with high-speed transfer (not sure if they refer to USB 3.0 or SSD) and it needs to be plugged in the back of the PS5 for some reason. Other than that: great video, very thorough and I am glad but also a little sad to be saying goodbye to elden ring now (put 250h into it over the course of a month), I did everything, so I'm glad I don't have to do 2 more replays, for the sake of me and my personal life :')

bro, i just play with my Brooks plugged into the PS5. No need to have it hanging out the side of the pad. Also, the booter 5 is out and it's pretty small. Should work well with the pad.

Yeah that works too, but the instructions said to plug it directly into the EXT to avoid lag. This could have been for an older firmware version though. And yes I have the Booter 5 now and love it. I show it in my R16 review (released the video earlier this month). Excellent piece of kit!

Are you thinking about the T Series or perhaps the R series? I really like the R Series. Switches are different though. Most of the other Haute42 pads use low profile switches whilst the G uses the standard MX switches.

Or you could just play the game 3 times… I mean you are scamming yourselves out of 100’s of hours of pure fun. Experimenting with different builds. If you are not having fun whilst getting the platinum trophy then what are you trying to prove with the platinum trophy in the first place? That you used some guides and found the fastest way possible way to get all trophies? Is that supposed to make you a good gamer or a good guide follower ? Poor unfortunate souls.

Look into a dongle called Mayflash Magic X. I don’t have one but I have heard it works like the Brook Wingman. In theory the Magic X should work very similar to the Brook Wingman for PS5.

That’s right. If you chose an ending already and didn’t back up your save before doing so you need to play NG+. Get your remaining endings on NG+.

Same thing happened to me. Such a shitty game decision. I assumed it would be like cyberpunk where you can go back immediately and try out all the endings. Now I'm locked out of plat trophy unless I replay the whole fucking game

I haven’t started dlc yet, but if you can leave the dlc area yes, or wait till you complete the dlc, fight last boss and then backup your save file and follow the other steps.

@@VidVayder The split layout and wrist position helps me out on 2p side with double fireball motions for supers. Normal leverless layout makes me tilt my wrist and makes it harder from 2p side.

How is the travel time, on keyboard I have trouble performing frame perfect inputs since pressing a key gives 2-3 frames instead of a one frame press due to the nature of my switches

For the stock Crystal Switches: total travel 3.2±0.25mm, trigger travel 1.2±0.3mm For the Wind Engines: total travel 2.8±0.25mm, trigger travel: 1.2±0.3mm Those numbers don't really mean anything to me 😅 All I can tell you is that it feels fast enough, faster than Razer's optical switches (that is probably more due to operating force), but then I play SF6 and that game does not require frame perfect inputs, there's a massive buffer window for everything.

I just got my mavercade plus s4 keebfighter, Im never going back to normal leverless layout. The split layouts are so much more comfortable, not to mention the 6gawd layout for attack buttons on mine. Jonyfraze hit the nail on the head when he designed the 6gawd layout.

That S4 does look good. I have to agree the layout is very comfortable even if I never had an issue with the 'standard' layout to begin with. It's growing on me! I don't know much about the 6gawd layout, I'm assuming it's the inclusion of the massive button to the right side of the action buttons?

Interesting, why do you say that? I thought that controllers just need SOCD cleaning and to make sure one button = one input. What makes the Pico/GP2040-CE not tournament legal?

But as I showed in the pin mapping section, you can map the buttons to whatever you want, or disable them for tournaments. So you're right in that my button layout wouldn't be legal in some tourneys, but the controller itself is fine. Appreciate the heads up brother 👍

I don't own a leverless but i do own an arcade stick which i only use for fighting games and this still helps for the right hand portion. Thank you. How do you use this in games with a dash botton like guilty gear though?

No worries, glad it helped. Is it possible to dash in GG with double tapping direction? Because it’s very easy on leverless. Alternatively there are models with more buttons that help with additional inputs. I only played Strive briefly so I’m not familiar with such things anymore 😅

Man I have been watching all of your videos on leverless to decide on my first one and I was trying to decide between the M16+ and R16 and now this split controller looks really appealing too... Which of the controllers do you prefer/recommend?

Thanks for the support man! Since it’s your first leverless, I would recommend the R16. It’s not too expensive, and you can have fun modding it with art. Use the R16 as a baseline to get an idea of what you like. If you feel like you need smaller, aluminium, or split layout you can go from there. As for my favourite, I been thinking about that today. Will probably make a ranking video at some point.

Someone made it for me. I got the Mai image from Deviantart so you can grab it from there too and make your own design. Alternatively you can ask one of the designers in the Cosmox Discord channel to do a design for you. Their prices are reasonable.
