Is that safe?

My dogs adapted slowly to Viva Raw and doing well so far. However, I would caution anyone that needs to rely on shipping times and would recommend a back up option. The website says to order ahead 7 days. We ordered on a Tuesday with one option for shipping was told it would arrive by Saturday. The expected shipping will now be be a minimum of 10 days, it could be longer. The company, despite a good product so far does not have great customer service. I have tried reaching out on this issue, with no help unfortunately. Hopefully they will grow and at some point remedy this issue.

My friends dog just got diagnosed with cancer. They’ve narrowed it down to one or two kinds. One is very bad. The other one is pretty bad. They really wanted to do amputation but I have a bill of over $10,000. That is financially out of the question. They also told her to stop feeding it raw diet, and she should feed something by hills or Royal Canaan :-) she promptly ignore that advice. I’m hoping that today they can give her a definitive diagnosis then she might have some kind of idea of what to do next. But all the knowledge in the world, all the technology in the world, etc. doesn’t mean a darn thing if you can’t afford it. thank you for acknowledging that not everybody has access to all the different things that people say helps treat or prevent cancer. there could be a lot of pressure out there for people to do this or do that or buy this or buy that or go to this doctor or that doctor and it just is not in the cards for most people. It ends up being another way of virtue, signaling, and shaming people.

I worked in the human healthcare realm for 25 years at a hospital. I can tell you this, you can do everything right. Great diet. Great exercise, etc. and sometimes cancer still comes and there’s nothing you can do about it. Same with animals. Beating yourself up doesn’t do any good. Thinking that feeding the perfect diet is going to guarantee a dogs health doesn’t do any good. You do as much as you can. But sometimes fate just steps in. It sucks but it’s the truth. I know people that say they’ll never feed a raw diet again because it didn’t save their dog. Yeah well, that’s a pretty crappy attitude to have in life. I also know people that said they’re sick dog, a raw diet and the dog improved greatly and they thought it was wonderful and super and the best thing ever. Then the next dog they get they feed kibble and when I ask them why they say “this dog isn’t sick“ so a raw diet is only for sick dogs? Again, weird logic. Great diet, exercise, clean environment, etc. is no guarantee. But at least you’re trying to give your dogs the best life they can have. That’s the important part.

We got 2 Bull Arab sisters who showed a bond early on and thouht it would be cruel to separate them. They ate together, trained together and sleep together. They are pretty rounded and haven't been desexed. At 2 years old the more dominant one gets a little bossy with the more submissive one. So we are working on that issue. Only heard about litter mate syndrome recently. I've ebeen thinking that they are pretty good because we walk them separately, they have bonded to separate people in the house, one to me and one to my son. And we had a much older dog when we got them who they respected as their alpha.

I actually tend to agree with many things she said. I’m not sure I want to fully convert to rotational mono feeding, but I want to learn a lot more about it. You know I feed Dr. Harvey’s products, but I want to add in my rotation some DIY meals. I didn’t want to complicate it, use supplements, or weigh and measure. Animals in the wild don’t weigh and measure their prey and calculate the bone and organ percentages, nor do they use a cast iron skillet to whip up a quick meal. So I want to keep it crazy-simple. I thought about adding some PMR meals without supplements, and I’m definitely wanting to learn more about this RMF way of feeding.

They push Hill's on pet owners bcos it is profitable - for THEM. Even the Prescription range contains gluten/corn fillers and by products, no whole meat. After experiencing the excruciating dental pain myself, I became a passionate advocate for pet dental health. Millions of pets live with dental pain and it's inhumane. It's just so selfish not to address such a serious issue. Regarding the pet food industry, Dr Tom (my hero) actually lives by the Vet ethos he swore to uphold. Being a vet and encouraging people to buy an expensive processed food, (the cause of dental disease) is unethical.

Question, how do you keep it all thawed without going bad? The only solution I have found for my 2 dogs is to meal prep, freeze, then thaw each container the day of. I would love to custom-make their meals like this every day but I don't know how without the meat going bad.

Are use the bug off garlic supplement also. But I use the dosage that they recommend on the package. But that’s all I do for fleas and ticks. I know you do other things also.

My dog was on PEA for two months. I ran out of supply so she wasn't able to take it for a week. Then just yesterday, she started seizing. We are looking at PEA as the primary suspect because this is the only new supplement we have given her. We gave it due to some bone spurs that's causing her pain. Other than the bone spurs, she is or was in a perfect good health. She was doing so well with it. But now Im not sure anymore -- maybe it was the sudden withdrawal? now she is on anti-seizure medication and this is going to be a loooong way to recovery. We are still figuring her out.

Hi Kimberly- So funny, my dogs AM “snack” (I only feed one meal per day) is….one raw duck foot & one sardine! Anyway, my question is this- while I & my dogs absolutely love Dr Harvey’s, because I normally always use either Small Batch or My Pet Carnivore for my base, (both 80/10/10, basically) and I know you said you premix your own meat/organs/bone, so do you not cut back on bone when you use Raw Vibrance? I never feel like I can use it because they have the bone content already covered in the mix. Really wish they’d make it with or without, but - do you not find that to be too much bone daily?

It takes me a while to get my dogs meals together with supplements and all. Then before they get their meals I have to put snoods on everyone because they're all spaniels. They're really good about all this though, then afterwards it's chillaxing time for them. Kimberly how much do your containers hold that you have your blend in. I need to get new. Thanks!

Good stuff, watching them melt away within 48 hours felt so good, and yes, I used what I mentioned the other day. It actually took a bit more to make them totally disappear, I just go’ogled Melissa Thanderski and days after I still can't believe the comfort.
