I guess the up-side of manifests is that, if you do find yourself unexpectedly in a yard, it's usually easier to get out of a classification yard than an IM yard.

Yesh at least from my experience at Rochelle Illinois you're most likely going to head west riding a garbage freight out of Eola yard. Seems majority intermodel heads north just west of Aurora with only one or two garbage freight going that way.

you need to be using duct tape on the bottom of your water jugs. It might help with your exploding water jug situation
@Jumpingoffthecliff4 күн бұрын
I’ve never had a problem with the heavy duty jugs I used leaking through the bottom. I smashed one dropping it overboard bailing, but other than that, never had an issue. I really liked the balance of them because of where the handle is mounted, but the plastic is pretty rigid and apparently too brittle over time. This one made it over two years. I might have to break down and get one of the leather covers from Amazon, or just keep using the Arizona tea containers. They hold up well against the cheese graters. The other option I’ve given serious consideration to, is an insulated metal jug I could put ice water in. That would work to keep my medicine cool too. I can’t let it get over about 85 degrees, nor can I let it freeze. It’s sort of a pain having to worry about it.

@@Jumpingoffthecliff a "yeti" style jug are very very heavy. We bought one for the son in law because he works building pole barns, and doesn't have access to fresh water. I thought to myself, I'm glad I don't have to carry this around. hahaha
