I have a elite 9 ti2 and nothing happens to screen when you turn on. Can hear beeping when buttons are push. Can tell it boots up & down but nothing on the screen. Was working perfectly

I have a Gen 2 Touch 12 inch that won't go into calibration mode, how can I check if the problem is the touch digitizer or the controller? Is it feasible to replace the touch with a universal 5-pin resistive using the original attachments? Interesting usb injector I'm curious about the connections.

How did you know it wasn't a physical button issue? I had a similar issues and i removed the power button flex board, separated it, cleaned the contactor, re-joined, installed and it worked perfectly. I got that fix from one of your videos.

This was A very helpful video. I was having the same issues and was ready to send mine in to be repaired until I saw this video. I took mine apart and it seemed as though the GPS shield was not seated correctly therefor it was touching the digitizer. I have fixed and now it works correctly. Thank you so much

I know very little about electronics. But I suspect that the thermistor here is intended to protect the diodes when the light is turned on in a cold building.

I have two of these to repair, both showing the same symptoms as you have in the video. I have not completed the repairs but after watching your video, I focused directly upon the battery. I've found these batteries are available on DigiKey for $1.10 (as of 5/24). They are lithium batteries, which is why I did not use the alkaline batteries the owner provided. Those batteries were the same as what you used for troubleshooting. I told the owner even though I could use those batteries to prove the backup was the issue, I would not recommend they be used as a permanent repair. The lithium batteries are designed to be recharged, alkaline batteries are not. Lithium batteries also need dedicated charging circuitry. I did not look into the charging circuitry on the Garmin pcb but worried it would not work correctly with the alkaline batteries over the long run. I do thank you for your video. It gave me great confidence to dive into fixing the units. I hope they work after I've finished the repairs.

My Lawrence hook 5 chirp is powering on but stuck on start up screen, first I tried(H rest) by holding both + - buttons when powering on till it beeps and then releasing no go, then (S reset) holding page button then power on but to no avail, also i can't turn it off with power button, any ideas before i send it to a tec, Thanks from New Zealand
