I heard there were two other places that are now different, a place known as the "Funhouse" or something which had a scary dungeon maze a mini golf laser tag and a Chuck E Cheese style arcade diner with an animatronic band, it's been closed down, another is a hotel and water park themed to Nickelodeon with shows such as Spongbob Dora Jimmy Neutron and Fairly Oddparents, it's still there but now as a generic fancy suites hotel

The Travel Channel, about 8-10 years ago, did show exclusively travel-related shows. Shows like Samantha Brown, No Reservations, Bizarre Foods, Booze Traveler, and a lot of one-off stuff like Best surfing spot, Best diners, Best RVs, and so on. That was the best. I do enjoy Expedition Unknown quite a lot as well, although that's a more recent addition to their lineup. They really only reserved the nonsense ghost and demon stuff for late nights...but then around the same time Animal Planet and Discovery Channel both went off the rails, so too did the Travel Channel. Marathons upon marathons of ghost shows killed the channel. I was really sad when that happened. I wouldn't be surprised if they tried to change HGTV into a ghost-centric channel sooner or later.

So there was Festival Bay and now there’s Dezerland, but in between those two phases of the same mall there was the Artegon. The Artegon was a permanent artisan market where a bunch of small businesses could rent out small vendor rooms year round. Local artists, plant shops, food places and more all opened there and it was really charming. There used to be a comic book store called Gods and Monsters that was huge then and had tons of community nerd events. Gods and Monsters still exists after artegon but is much smaller :(. The Artegon was honestly a hidden gem and I think it was before it’s time especially since thrifting and small businesses are more of a trend now. If Artegon and tik tok had existed at the same time, I think it would have survived and been one of the few genuinely nice places in Orlando that supported small businesses instead of giant corporations. It makes me sad that it’s now just the hideous Dezerland.

This show is a bizarre blend of pro wrestling, fakey cryptozoology shows, and the equivalent of what I can only describe as Glorified Scooby Doo plots, and I’m all here for it. This show is frickin awesome. You know it’s fake, but it’s so fun to watch these hillbillies knock around in the woods chasing after things that may or may not exist (except for Mothman. Mothman is real.)

I think its funny how people insist that disney forced the showrunners to include them when the exact opposite happened. The showrunners loved the movie so much they asked disney if they could crossover with it which is so funny to think about.

Loved Gatorland, Old Town, The Citrus Tower and The President's Hall of Fame. I grew up in Florida from 1982-1996. Lived near I-Drive in a neighborhood across from where Univeral's water park is. When I was a kid, Icon Park was the Mercado, a pretty nice mall. Went there to see Bigfoot and The Budweiser Horses. Old Town looks different from when I was a kid. There was a caroseul, but it was mostly shopping and food. Nice to walk around and there was a really cool musuem of wood carving. There was somewhere on the gulf side that had dinosaurs, I want to say Leu gardnes but can't remember. Some of these are after I left Florida or I never went like Medieval Times. Dezerland sounds cool if it's got a car museum.

Ben 10 alien Force and ultimate alien are fucking Goated. The original series and Omniverse are garbage. The reboot is garbage too. How can we never had a good Ben 10 video game. We've had okay ones. There was that one phone app one. They gave us a lot of trash. Ben 10 should be rebooted. But it should start with alien Force. Nice little reboot that flows well into the Omniverse storyline. That would be perfect

I'd tune in for every Deadliest Warrior episode! I think it just mashed together two things I was really interested in...historical warfare and video games. Of course most of it was BS, but I still got a bit heated when it was clearly an unbalanced battle or just modern military battles (which is when I realized they totally ran out of ideas). The first 1-2 seasons were fun. The final season was pretty uninspired boredom. Still entertaining though!

I visited my friend this easter weekend and we ended up going to Dezerland for their glow in the dark mini golf. It was really fun (we did the special rule every 3 holes which really added to the experience) but yeah it was HOT. We didn't go into any other stores or attractions or whatever but we did do a quick loop around the go kart track just to check things out. It was interesting but it also felt really awkward bc there were only a handful of other people there in this big ass building. It felt Wrong 😭
