Well I took the furthest one first then wanted to come back for the closer one for a left and right but in the cross wind he flared and was gone. Always tough in a cross wind. If the wind had been more in my back, I'd have had them both 😉 I don't like to let them get away 😄

Yeah it's actually turned out OK in the end I think. When I was editing it on my phone it was a bit tricky to see cos of the small screen and I thought it was going to be a bit rubbish but now I've got it uploaded and have seen it on the bigger TV screen, it's OK. Thanks 👍🏼

Ooh, I haven't a clue. I don't wanna be one of those guys that says "I shoot 'em at 30/40/50/60/70yds" when I haven't a clue what that looks like in the air. Different story if it were a fox in the lamp - I could tell you to within 1 yard 😄 But honestly I don't know. I know what my capabilities are and I know what's in and out of range....for me. But some of them were fairly rangey 😉

😆 Yes to be honest, I was moving everything about quite a bit to get it right. I had 2 whirlers and 2 flappers, put them up, put them down, moved them around etc and in the end it honestly made little difference. The birds that wanted to come came, and those that didn't didn't! 😄

Well I was considering it. And I very nearly did "dig in". But the land is so wet, in the end I thought I'd end up hitting water while digging and I really didn't fancy sitting in a wet hole all day 😂 However, that would have meant I'd have had the wind in my back, which would have been glorious! It may have been a better option, who knows 🤷🏻‍♂️

It must be a county thing lol We build field hides bang in the middle of a field or on the headland and get good bags I brought a couple of light weight camo tarps with 6 eyelet rings and they make a lovely wind break. Hiya. Have a look at my most recent video, the 111 on rape, there's a bit more about the benelli in that video. But yes, it's a benelli m2, 10 shot. Not sure what weight it is, but when it has 8 or 10 shells in, it handles quite like an o/u. Or at least as much like an o/u as any auto can do. 👍🏻

Thanks. I got it from a fishing tackle shop actually. It's brilliant. It will hold 500 at a push but I usually just put 450 in. It's made from a tough, flexible and waterproof material so it's perfect for the hide. Hmm, sometimes it goes that well but not always! 😄 If they're decoying really well (which they were on this day) and the wind is in my back, I should be able to shoot 85/100. A lot of shots in those conditions would be just point and shoot to be honest. Different in a side wind. And different if they're a bit jumpy and not willing to commit to the kill zone. As averages go I shoot between 1.3 and 1.6 to 1. But then I get quite a bit of trigger time so I would hope I've learnt something over the years 😄 Thanks.

I HATE missing! I fired 499 shells for 320 so a ratio of 1.56 : 1. Which is good enough I suppose, they weren't all dollies, far from it, some were wide of the pattern or high overhead so I'm happy enough. But I don't think of the ones I got, I just remember the ones that got away 😄 They'll be there for another day though.
