Sadly this didn’t work for me, I only managed to push the broken pin all the way inside. Funnily enough my CD player still worked as there was now enough room to insert a new RCA jack, but I’m OCD and the fact that the broken pin was still inside niggled me. So I had another go the next day, and my attempt to drive a large sewing needle into the sunk pin pushed it all the way through and onto the circuit board!! As I had heard horror stories of the random bit of metal shorting something on the board I carefully undid the many screws and opened the CD player box up. Lo and behold there was the broken pin sitting on the circuit board, which I removed with tweezers. The only job left was to push the stainless steel connector bit back into the RCA jack, where the broken pin had pushed it out when it came out the back. This I did with a gentle few taps of a hammer using a small screw head against the connector bit. Thankfully it went flush back inside. I was praying that the last action hadn’t inadvertently damaged the RCA jack which would have necessitated my taking the whole thing back to the manufacturer for repair! With fingers crossed I put the box back, re-screwed the screws, hooked it up with my RCA cables and switched on my amp. With a CD in the tray I found the player was even better than before. With the broken pin inside, even while I was able to get L/R sound, I had to jog the RCA cable to get it “just right” or else the L-side would cut out. So getting that pin out was just the ticket. Pat on the back awarded! Unfortunately I didn’t succeed in doing it by your method though, lol 😂

My problem is that the hinge part disappeared when it broke. I'm struggling to figure out how to replace it. I might just drill out the hole so that it's uniform and run a simple axle through with a split pin. I am super happy with the rest of the headset as it's been smashed to bits multiple times, and all that i needed to do was to bend the thing back together.
