Thanks Andy, and respect for your assistant. Hopefully, if I can hold onto and practice these points the nervousness that I feel going into this step will decrease.

The chasses and steps are not tied to the music in the video. The common mistake cited in the video is what I see with dancers who do not dance to the music. I often see this with dancers who are not familiar with western music.

V6 is not as showy as pendulums, fishtails or pepperpot. Instead of V6, I lead a reverse fishtail and turn on the slows or qq s to reorient to line of dance. V6 is not worth the effort. Thanks for the lesson.

Quickstep requires a lot of pattern changes. We fake advanced level with pendulums, fishtail, tipple chasses and locksteps. Needless to say, we dance the occasional quickstep song with our "faked" version and switch to charleston to break our routine. Quickstep is a fun dance 😂

I find memorizing turns and figures in quickstep very taxing. I just dance the basic triple step, step and dance to wherever I want to Iead and turn whichever direction my heart desires. It will look like my wife are dancing quickstep and that's all that matters. Pendulum fits nicely with the pattern. With fishtail, I just lead an extra quick quick to the triple step. Step hop, step hop is another one we fake. I lead the 2 slows as a rock step for navigation. Then we do a fast tandem Charleston to the music in the center of the dance floor. Yay. Quickstep fun.
