Good on you! took the bolt out, or my 541S and couldn't get the bolt back in. Your video did the trip. Flat side of the bolt goes on the bottom! . Mine is about 99.5 %. Great gun!

I’ve owned all those models and were great squirrel rifles but sold them all after buying an Anschutz 1710 D KL sporter (54 action). Only sporter rimfire close to my Anschutz was my friend’s Cooper Jackson squirrel rifle. The 541-S was consistently more accurate than my “T” models. All the 541’s I owned had plastic mags.

Thank you for the review of this 541 rifle but please call the magazine a magazine and not a clip for the new gun owners that are learning .

I had a 541T and it was by far the most accurate .22 ive ever shot. I wish i had never gotten rid of it.

What size are the big city thunder baffles , if you could please let know , I am interested in getting them for my big redius Vance and Hanes thanks

Bike running terrible

I still have an unissued 541-T, that came in the box, as a volunteer at the CMP. I also got a Remington 40X, a Remington 40XB, Remington 40XE, Win 52C, Win 52D. Mossberg 44US, Mossberg 144US, Mossberg 144LS, Stevens 416-T, Remington 540X, Remington 513-T, Remington 521-T, and one or two others. I love the Winchester 52C the most, but have to admit the 541-T remains unfired to this day.

. Great rifle, I love my 541T, although the plastic ‘magazines’ (not “clip”) are a little disappointing but they work well.

THE 541T IS AS ACCURATE AS THEY CAME BECAUSE I HAVE ONE AND I HAVE KILLED MANY SQUIRRELS AND CROWS AT OVER 100 YARDS.

Theres no trick to putting the bolt back in. Just turn the front of the bolt till it stops rotating, push forward on safety till you feel it pick up the lug grooves and lift the bolt handle till it slides into the grooves. NOTHING TO IT. MOST PEOPLE DON,T SHOOT ENOUGH TO REALLY KNOW THEIR GUN.

This BS about a 541 S outshooting a T is just what it is BS. I bought my T in 93 and never had another 22 shoot like it. The T is drilled and tapped for RIFLE BASES unlike the S that has the dovetail mount. Mine has outshot kimber 82c,s Winchester 52,s and 541,S, s. .Had a friend who bought a Anshutz Model 52 spotter, A absolute dream rifle in AAA grade French black walnut ,OMG that gun was beautiful. We went to the range and My T ( non heavy barrel ) outshot his tight tight groups by a good margin. One 5 shot group was 1 hole. NOT RAGGED, 1 HOLE. He was shocked as he paid 5 times as much for his rifle as I did. The wanted to trade even up for mine but ACCURACY is always 1st and I still have my T. Gonna pass it on to my son one day. By then it should be worth a few grand.

Eh brother i hope get this. I had these baffles inistall and now my bike is not running right. Keeps back firing. What jet size did you use?

I know this video is old, but worth a shot, on these pipes where did you install the baffles and did you have to drill a hole?

Where can I find at least 4 of the 5 round steel mags? Just inherited one of these. 3rd owner and I know that part of the history. It groups better than I can. There was a steel mag with it at one time, but now only plastic. I'll pay up for the steels,and no it is not for sale!

The 581 is the same action and same performance. Much more affordable gun, I got one when I was a kid after much reading about it.

Just traded my 541 T HB last week. Funny you say that the first shot were fliers. My first shot was always 1.5" high and 1.5" right. Then I could put the next 9 almost in the same hole in the bull

the biggest problem with the 541S is that it only has 1 action screw which hurt the accuracy big time

My father would say the real significance of the 541 was in the action. The bolt had - not 2, not 3, not 4, but 6 lugs! It was arguably the most positive locking 22lr bolt action ever produced. It bugged him that my 541T would out shoot his Anschutz Model 1422 which was twice the price. He offered to trade me many times.

Let the need dictate which rifle you would buy' if you're gonna buy it to show off to your friends and never take it out back and bowl over some gophers or head shoot some squirrels out of tall oak trees buy the s' if you are gonna use it for what it was made for [ hunting] buy the T ' you won't be disappointed' the T I own has the most accurate barrel I have ever seen on a remington 22. the 581 I owned before it was a nail driver and the T was just flat out ridiculous .

God guys like him piss me off' when I went to order my 541 in 90 I asked the guy at the custom shop which one he would recommend for competition shooting in a sporter' he said the T was the sure fire choice as it comes drilled and tapped for rifle bases which are infinitely more solid and stable than the dovetails on the s' he also said the biggest pet peeve he had was these guys who ordered the s and then came back all pissed off cuz they got outshot by someone with a t' when he tried to explain that the two were basically the same gun but the s had all the pretty bells and whistles while the t had the better barrel' they got mad cuz they spent more for the same rifle .WTF' The moraL of the story is just cuz it's prettier don't mean it will shoot better' you can paint a garbage can gold and it's still a garbage can' no offense to all the s owners out there ' you have a beautiful rifle with the s but just don't go around making blanket statements like the s owner in the video saying the s will outshoot any t ever made cuz i've made some pretty proud s owners eat crow with my T SPORTER. The guy at the custom shop knows someone who owns a REMINGTON40XF and tried multiple times to buy it from th e guy but the guy said he'd sooner sell his first born child' he saw it once and said it is the most beautiful rifle he has ever seen.

I inherited a 541-T from my Uncle not to long ago knew nothing about the gun just assumed it was another 22 w/e your video inspired me to take it out to the range and see what she can do and as you described first could rounds i was a little worried that optics were off but as it kept running it go to being accurate and giving me (a non hobbist sometimesshooter) my furthest hit yet at about 90 yards (nothing special i know) But its now my favorite to just go run rounds through. SKS too loud too expensive to keep running. Anyway Thanks for the video.
