I find it interesting how you characterize the villains in this show who attract and fascinate you as "complicated" (for example Hisoka and Chrollo). Is this a way to pretend you are drawn to complexity rather than amorality? Evil is not more complex than good. Look at Uvogin. pure selfishness may actually be the simplest of all motives and personality types. For a person to sublimate their own good for the good of others depends on complicated layers of experience and upbringing. I suppose it might be more accurate to phrase it from your perspective as being typical versus atypical. It is rare for a person to grow up without layers of restraints on their pure selfish motives and behaviors. In that sense the bad guys would be more unique, rare, atypical, and so more fascinating and enigmatic. But none of that makes them more complex. In reality people are almost entirely chained by the expectations of those around them. The Phantom Troupe members being raised in the worst slums in their world had the worst expectations imposed upon them and duly conformed to those negative expectations. Gon seems to be at the opposite extreme of positive expectations and conformity to same. Killua would be an example of a person who had one set of expectations controlling him most of his life, but during the Hunter exam he became surrounded by people with different and more virtuous expectations of him which allowed him to transform and break away from those past expectations. Well, to be fair, I'm just a nice guy who resents women being attracted to the bad boy and claiming it is just because they are more "complex." I can assure you the layers of restraints that have me behaving good despite selfish longings are at least as complex the inner workings of a typical bad boy or villain archetype. That said, the truth is that opposites attract, so nice women being drawn to bad men is actually the simplest thing in the world. In other words the characters who do not value human lives unless they have a personal favorable connection with that human were raised by and around people who had that same outlook.

I totally prefer the dub, but I like chaos so I guess I can see why others don’t like it. I need highly stimulating shows and the over-the-topness of the dub just does it better for me. I find it funnier and some of the jokes hit better because the way things are said in English are what make the joke funny.

I’m trying to get my friend to watch this show, so I’m watching his shows. Kaguya-sama is easily my favorite anime. Watching it took me back to high school crushes. The strategy is the way I think about romance. (Maybe not the best thing, but it is relatable) Kaguya-sama dub is the best dub in anime. 1000% better than the sub. I’m surprised a lot of people are saying sub is better in the comments. I think just a lot of people are used to watching subbed anime. The show starts pretty good, but only gets better and better. The first episode is good, but nowhere near how good the show actually is.

People always talk about the dance scene, which is great but I like the lore drop about curses and goddess magic a lot as well, like there's a specific reason for having priests in parties and they have their own magic along with the first mention of curses, though the seal Frieren put on Qual was essentially petrify

This is one of my favourite episodes, two distinct arcs both of which are great. I love that Ashe dressed up specially for the ballroom episode! Definitely totally on purpose...

There are 3 or 4 episodes in this season that I consider my favorites, but all for completely different reasons. It's great how this show can strike a balance between types of situations

Whats really cool about this episode is that the whole dance scene is (if im remembering correctly) hand drawn, it wasnt rotoscoped. I remember it kinda being a big deal when the episode dropped.

There are countless animes out there, where Japanese audio is better in every way, but it's not vital to the experience. Kaguya-sama is one of the special ones. If you watch it in dub - you basically havent seen it.
