Grobe Maschinentechnik für 19. Jrhd. Nicht zu vergleichen mit modernen Maschinen im Maschinenbau die auf hundertstel Millimeter genau arbeiten.

My number one "complaint" is how disrespectful ALL the workers were with respect to protecting the lathe's "ways". Dropping things on the ways and dragging chains over the ways. EVERY "impact" .....metal-on-metal .....can leave a dent or scratch. Considering the condition of the entire plant ......this is the culture. The surface slag/swarf condition of the piece at the very beginning, can typically contain very hard and brittle materials. This material needs to be either removed in a timely manner or covers used to protect the ways. Considering this being an older machine, the ways are probably NOT hardened. The beauty is, these guys are working with what they've got ....and they know what they're doing. They might not do the job the quickest, but it will get done ....and let's hope ....to specifications. .

Whenever I watch one of the videos I marvel at the ingenuity and craftsmanship but then go out to my shop and sweep the floor.

their sandals must be well reinforced, I can feel it when I walk on pebbles and they walk on sharp pieces of steel, and I like it when they weld, they don't even waste time removing paint where they weld

They were bad education in school. Energy doesn't create from nothing. Energy transforms from one side to another. And each part must be equal. When disell works, it takes energy from oil and transforms it to drive.

This will really never work. As soon as torque is needed the electrical engine will smother and burn.

That is a mechanica;l converter from AC to DC, probably for welding or speed controll small motors with DC voltage. Why not direct coupling to reduce loos in the belts?
@user-bn4zx7qg2c
@user-bn4zx7qg2c 17 сағат бұрын
This is not a mechanical converter from alternating current to direct current. If you look closely at 1:50, you will see the three phases of the generator, and this is how three-phase alternating current comes out. The whole setup is pure bullshit just to get money from Google, in fact it is just a scam.

despite lot of comments here this setup make sense, not for creating power from nothing, but to convert AC to DC for example.. like the people made more than 100 years ago. Sure you use an inverter in modern days.

Exactly. Without knowing the specs on the equipment who knows? They might even just be trying to clean up the power for their welders or something. 75kw isn't a monumental amount of power for a big shop like this. edit: At the end they imply it's running the shop. All that makes sense is it's there to clean up the power. But unless that's a 100hp plus motor they are not getting 75kw out of the system. That motor looks 50 - 60 hp(ish).

I'm not being sarcastic at all. I wonder how many people get maimed or killed working in these conditions. They are smart enough to use the equipment but have no clue how to be safe around it. Loose clothing, sandals and children working around the equipment is a recipe for disaster.
